I use a wheelchair and doors get in my way when they are sticking out into the hall because of the door knob holding the doorway from the wall. That doesn't sound like a lot of space but when you're trying to maneuver in a chair it can be a big problem. I bought this and asked my husband to drill a hole in the wall, and we stuck it in the hole. Now the door knob goes into the hole and this cup and the door hits flat against the wall giving me an extra almost 3 in of movement space. Sometimes you have to get creative.
