My parents had an older version of this knob with a metal inside that corroded and froze to the cartridge stem. Removing it was a horrible job! This one’s plastic insides won’t ever do that.

I ordered 2 kits. One kit is complete with 2 screws and an Allen key, while the second kit did not include the 2 screws. The set screw from the original Moen handle does not fit the thread of this replacement part.

I had to use the old plastic wear as it's not exactly the same as my old Moen. At least it now looks the same even if a little lose. Ok. I found out I needed an extra adapter to tighten this as the handle was lose. If you find yourself in the same pickle, pick up the Moen 116653 PosiTemp Shower Handle Replacement Adapter Kit and it might work for you. I think our original was about 20 years old and the new handle would wobble. Changing it to the adapter kit fixed that problem.
