This mount does what is advertised. It obviously moves up and down and can swivel side to side. It is not bulky but due to thinner arm bracket, it can sway in the wind. It works and does the job.

⭐️ Flimsy and Unsafe – Don’t Trust It with Your TVVery disappointed with this TV mount. The metal is extremely flimsy and bends way too easily. It could barely hold up my 40-inch TV, and I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it mounted. It felt unstable from the start, and I honestly don’t trust it to hold any decent-sized TV safely. Definitely not the quality I expected—would not recommend.

I researched in vain to find something simple: Telescoping/expanding/folding satellite speaker ceiling mounts. I have rarely used my rear logitech speakers for my computer in 8 years because it's very inconvenient. It crossed my mind to try a ceiling mount option that could go down low enough for when I'm watching entertainment/playing games. I opted to go with a folding mount option so when I switch to TV I can just fold them up to the ceiling. I wish I could set them up and forget about it forever but a surround system for a PC just doesn't really work without having your back to a wall. I like having space to move around....These are only so long. So what I did was purchase some steel square bar from ACE and extended it by 2 feet. Smoothed, primed, and painted black. Drilled holes in it and the mount arms and attached them. I bought some sat speaker mounts that fit the bar dimensions perfectly. Salvaged part of my old tv stand that I replaced with a wall mount and used it as my base mounting bar screwed into my ceiling joists. Due to my setup I was forced to mount it right against my bedroom light but ah well, what can ya do until you build your own home to your own specs, in the future.I wish I could have found a professionally designed solution but if some person reads this and gets the idea, go for it. The product is needed by the people. It's more of a specialty item but hey. Money is money and there's plenty of PC users who crave their hobby and want excellent sound systems for their games and videos and would love a ceiling mount solution where they can just move them out of the way so they don't have to trip over speaker wire and floor stands or knock over those stands constantly.I also debated fabricating desk mounts that would be attached to my desk and extend out for use or out of the way as needed but I decided the ceiling mount would be vastly easier. Just thought I'd mention it to give the right person IDEAS.

This ceiling mount works as described. However, if you are using it to attach to a typical 8’ ceiling, be prepared to use a 2’ step ladder. When completely hidden the TV is only 3” from the ceiling. That means you need to be able to reach 7’ 8”. I’m 6’ tall and I was unable to maneuver the TV in place. Additionally, you will be required to push the TV forward horizontally to engage the catch mechanism. The idea is good, the quality seems sturdy but I would not recommend this product. I will be upgrading to one with a motor.

I mean it can hold a TV. But the hinge feels a lot weaker that it needs to be. Either the hinge needs a tighter grip or you need to do some even more DIYing to get the result you wanted. Not to mention the screws needed to adjust the height is extremely finicky. They need to be so tight that it may cause you to strip the screws. I'm trying to adjust the height, but now the screws are stripped. Wished it used screws that I could use a Phillips head with. Ones with hexagonal holes are extremely easy to strip
