I bought this simply to attach to my music stand and keep a few plectrums, guitar string cleaner and a capo. I chose a different design initially, the one with a small screw at the back to tighten. This broke when I attempted to turn it first time so returned it and chose this as a replacement (from a different supplier)with a simpler design. It works perfectly and is sturdy and simple to use. Very happy!

Adquirí las dos versiones de esta bandeja y la verdad son muy útiles para montar algunos dispositivos como preamps o pequeñas mezcladoras (en el mas chico plumillas sliders y Ebow, etc.), la verdad esta el tamaño es muy bueno porque coloco una caja directa para mi micrófono de diadema, y para el receptor inalámbrico de mi guitarra, pongo 4 estrellas porque se inclina un poco hacia adelante aun estando firmemente puesto en la base del micrófono, tal vez sea necesaria una base con un tubo un poco más ancho en diámetro para que se evite ese pequeño detalle. pero en definitiva es de mucha utilidad y resistente por su construcción de metal.

This stand works but it is not the best built quality. It is difficult to keep it sturdy. The screw system to tighten underneath the unit in order to not move and stay in the same position is not extremely reliable. It is not well designed. Still, a good purchase for the money.

I used this on a shepherds hook that supports a bug catcher. The tray is to hold a small cup with yeast and sugar-water( to make CO2 for mosquito attraction ). The tray works fine for this purpose. I may need to oil the threads on the adjusting knob to prevent rust.

I did not realize by the picture that the mounting apparatus would not be sturdy enough to stay clamped tightly. The platform portion is large enough to accommodate my percussion instruments. The clamp should be a bit more sturdy.

I find this works pretty well to support a MacBook Air (recent model with M2 chip) when this tray is clamped to the center column of a camera tripod. It is not rock solid by any means, there is some flex under the weight of the laptop, but I don't feel like it's going to collapse or disengage or that the laptop will slide off. I agree with some other reviews that the clamp could be perhaps designed or mounted differently to work better against the counter weight of the shelf but it's suiting my purposes for now and is better than another one I tried designed in a similar way. I also have a second platform on the top of the tripod (held securely by the ball head) supporting an Epson projector which is connected to the laptop for mobile presentations. In case it's of interest, that other platorm is the koolehaoda Laptop Notebook Pallet Projector Tray Holder with Arca-Swiss Interface for 1/4" to 3/8" Screw Tripod Stand Ballhead Mount, 22 lbs Capacity with Vented Cooling Platform Stand So with a tripod I already carry around and these two platforms I've got a nifty and fairly portable mobile projector/laptop stand.

Bought this for a friend who plays congas as a birthday present. He loves it and has been using it every Sunday for over 6 months to hold his percussion items. He has it attached to his chime stand. He does take it down and set it up every session. I play guitar next to him and have never seen it fall or sag.
