I've been limping a 2010 Mac Mini Server along for the past few years because I didn't want a clunky storage solution with a newer Mac Mini (that doesn't allow for a second drive in the case). This dock solves that for me as I can now have up to 8TB extra storage on a newer Mac Mini without the annoying external drive connected via USB. As soon as I ordered this, I ordered a new m4 Mac Mini. It works perfectly. The transfer rate is phenomenal but that's just a bonus for me. I mostly use it as a media server running Plex and iTunes sharing to Apple TVs and don't really need much power under the hood but copying files quickly is quite a perk.
