Can't get it tight enough to stay in pool skimmer and pool cleaner just knocks it out to easily

Read the installation instructions! It worked as instructed. Helps keep pool cleaner since we live in the country. Nice and sturdy. Feel it was a fair price and will last.

Assembled easily. Didn't seem like it was gonna become big enough to fit in our skimmer frame but then I noticed if you unscrew the "mount" bits off completely you can reverse them and get an extra inches out of each of them.That was the trick. After that it mounted pretty easily.Adjust easy enough, you can flip it over to quickly adjust height of the "deflector" thing in the water.All that said... it might be actually messing up the flow of things. Might be bringing them closer, really hard to tell.When things hit it though (midway or further out), they still just kind of make their way around it vs getting pulled into the skimmer.So overall I'm not really sure it's "helping"? But it could just be the shape/design of our pool or maybe we would need to readjust our jets based on having this in the water now?It did install easily enough and was built well. Time will tell how it stands up to the UV though!

The concept for this pool skimmer is a good one, I like the idea of having the debris that gets in the pool guided into the skimmer (especially after DH mows the lawn). This skimmer aid comes with instructions, two paddles that need to be connected, and the "clamp" piece that sets up in the skimmer entry. The "clamp" has two white tubes, each with a rubber(?) cap. The caps need to be removed, then the white tubes need to be turned over and screwed onto the main unit in order for them to be lengthened or shortened. Then the caps go back on the white tubes. All the pieces fit together properly. The entry to our skimmer is tile, and this just doesn't stay in place. The caps slide out of place with the motion of the water. So, while this worked for a few minutes, it then shifted and was pulled into the skimmer. I gave this 3 stars because I'm not giving up on it. I'm going to try and find caps that fit that are made out of another material that will stick to to the tile, and that can work in an area that may not be totally level.

It is spring in the Midwest so we have had a ton of black bugs drowning in our pool. They kept floating right past the skimmer hole so we needed something to help them get sucked in. I got this skimmer arm to replace another old one that we previously had but lost the bracket to attach it to the skimmer outlet. This one is actually a big improvement over the old one. It is quite a bit longer which gives it the ability to stop more debris floating in the water. You can adjust the angle of the arm by how you attach it to the peg that protrudes from the skimmer outlet. It is basically like an octagon and you just rotate it on the peg to adjust the angle of it in the pool. You can also adjust how high the arm sits out of the water by turning it upside down. This allows it to work well no matter what your water level is at. It will on occasion catch the floating chlorinator so I had to put that on a string for the time being to keep it away from the skimmer. If you are looking for something to help your skimmer filter debris off of the surface of the pool more effectively, this is a great tool to make that happen.

This was difficult to install and position correctly. The expander to keep the arm inside the skimmer opening is small and doesn't extend enough in our case. Our skimmer is also ceramic tile lined, so it slips a bit. In practice, I think that it would work, but just doesn't in our pool. Our water level is required to be higher than the arm is tall.

If you have a yard that is good at dropping debris non stop this is a good alternative to non stop scooping. Easy to adjust and stays where it is set.
