I bought a 500 yard spool of 50# to fill an electric reel for rock fishing deep water. I would usually use 80#, but the diameter was to large. I purchased a box on Amazon before Christmas and when I loaded it on the reel it had at least seven splices in the spool out of a brand new box! I have been fishing spectra for over 20 years and I am not aware of any company that sells a new spool of line with a splice in it. The whole point of buying 500 yards is to not have any imperfections top-to-bottom. I returned the spool to Amazon and got a new one which still had one splice in it. Evidently this is standard practice with this product. Don't waste your money.

Price is a tad steep but it holds knots better than regular PP. Throws well and does not seem as affected by wind knots like some braids. It is slightly buoyancy positive but will sink with a good bait. Wind picks it up a bit when fishing from an elevated pier or structure. I have felt very gently bite from an assortment of fish.

I have tried many different brands of braid at almost every price point. This is the best braid I have ever used. It is extremely thin, and at 20lb if you are not careful you will get an occasional wind knot. I have found that to be rare enough that all the line's benefits far outweigh that occasional issue.
