I use the WindTech PPA-02 along with an extendable painters pole to get my camera above the crowd. I record lot of bands at shows, most tripods are pretty short, I use this so that when people crowd the stage I can still get good video of the band. It is built really well and is a great value! I have never seen anything else that would do this and it was exactly what I needed to get above the crowd. I actually bought a second one!

I'm sure there's a purpose-built long camera pole out there somewhere. I'm also sure it costs tens times what a really sturdy painters' pole costs. This adapter fit a box-store painters' pole perfectly and securely. It's well made and comes with two options for camera threads. Shipping was a little longer than I'm used to with Prime but it was worth the wait. Happy with purchase.

Perfect fit with the Wooster Sherlock Painter’s pole.Quality metal used, not a cheap quality so there’s no concern of the screw shearing off with the weight of the camera.

Awesome - mine came with a different adjustable head than show here which is even better - use it with a Wooster Sherlock (hexagonal locking inner pole) - pick one out yourself some are more "loose" than others when extended.
