I was surprised, as I had low expectations for a low cost product like this, however it appears to be very sturdy and holds up my Shure SM7B without drooping due to the mic’s weight. In order to extend out in front of my desk, I did have to put a counter weight on the base to avoid it falling over, but that is easy enough.

I'm so glad I bought this! it's exactly what I needed to have a VO recording set up in my closet! it's sturdy bcof the heavy base, adjustable in height, and great for my blue yeti mic. although the shock absorber can't be used with the blue yeti but I don't need it. Don't hesitate to buy this.... it's a great product that looks like it will last!

Arrive fast enough. Strong heavy base, pro grade solid construction. All pieces were there, instruction was clear. Got it assembled in 20 minutes. Using it to hold my Elgato Wave 3, so the shock mount piece functionality test will have to wait for the next time I test my Beta 87. The height is flexible for a standing 180cm male or 160cm female, and arms definitely flexible enough for typical podcast desk height usage. Recommended.

Works well and extremely easy to assemble. Technically you just need the base if you have an existing arm. Can use standing or sitting too.

I have a powered sit/stand desk and had my webcam mounted to a standard tripod mic stand with a telescoping arm. This kept it from shaking from the desk wobbling and allowed me to adjust the camera placement depending on how high I had the desk. The problem was that it was not a very easy process to adjust and I didn't have quite enough room between the desk and the wall to put it exactly where I wanted it.I started searching for a wall-mounted scissor arm boom when I came across this stand. For $60, I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad I did. It works perfectly for what I needed. Thanks to the round weighted base, I have plenty of room for it between the desk and the wall. And, the arm allows me to easily place the camera exactly where I need it to be, without having to loosen knobs, adjust, test and repeat. Plus, I didn't have to put holes in my wall and can use this in various locations in the future. Highly recommended.

I purchased one of these suspension boom mic stands for multiple purposes that include Podcast recording, Twitch streaming and general use when on zoom calls. These are really great. The quality is outstanding. Very heavy and well built. I'm not stressed about my mic falling when fully extended, even while on carpet. My favorite part of these stands is that I can extend the boom over my computer monitors, which are on a monitor mount at the highest setting. I use a standing desk, so I have had to mess around with my previous booms to get it to work, but this stand really eliminates the fuss. I just set it up behind my desk and the boom reaches over with not trouble.I've tried several booms, even an expensive one from Sweet Water (which is a great piece), none compare to the value you get in this stand. I'm very picky on my equipment, and I know this stand will STAND the test of time. This stand was so impressive that I ordered another. This stand seems to be a niche item, but it really should be the go to for people who want a boom. The main reason is that you can just unplug your mic and MOVE it. I need that so I can use with my calls online, but also take it into the studio without having to dismantle my whole setup. I'm so happy with both mic stands. Quality is perfect on both. 5 stars for sure!

My impressions during unboxing:*Heavier Parts than expected.*The base is pretty wide, which was a little problematic for my space constraints, but I could see why you would want a large diameter base (stability)*Threads on extensions feel clean and not cheap, especially compared to cheaper competitor arms.*Extension poles themselves were also very sturdy and weighty.*Tightened into the base, things feel solid, with no wobble.*The arm is very smooth and actually quite longer than my old one and the springs do their job well.*The pop filter was actually surprisingly decent. It doesn't squeak when you flex the plastic, which feels solid and sturdy, and the other end fastens conveniently into the top of where the mic mounts to.*Mic clips are very plastic but feel like they'll definitely get the job done, especially for studio or light stage use.*Tightening/loosening felt very good on everything.*If your mic will be hanging pointed at the floor, there are some limitations with the range of motion of tilt.*Shock Mount is unlike any I have seen, but looks like it will work fine with small-medium sized Mics, but BEWARE IF YOU HAVE A ***BLUE YETI***, there's no chance this is fitting that shock mount. Which is a shame, as I felt like the digging I did seemed to indicate that it would.Other things to note:I asked questions about the pole extension height and never got a correct answer. I've provided the instructions and their specifications so that anyone else purchasing or interested in purchasing knows exactly what they're getting into. I'm a little confused as to why the height wasn't listed in the description. Not worth hiding.Let me CLARIFY: pole height without arm is 39.37 inches, and the diameter of the base is 11.81 inches. This product exceeds what the ad makes it seem to be. I only wish the shock mount was useful for me, and maybe I need to look into their other baseplate options.Final thoughts:After everything considered, I would give this product a 5/5 stars, nothing worth demoting this product on. There are areas for potential improvement, or new iterations, but I don't think it's worth losing a star over. Would recommend this considering it's the only floor or desk arm convertible package with a this much weight and build quality at this price, plus it has some solid goodies.

Bought the PMKSH28 because the Pyle products I've owned in the past were good quality and I didn't want to spend the kind of dough Muse does on their Koenig & Meyer 23860 or Yellowtec boom arms, let alone figure out how to mount them on a mic stand.Enter Pyle, who did the heavy lifting for me with a mic stand that has the suspension arm mounted on top with a clever locking adapter. The base, swivel lock and arm locking mechanisms are all solid and contribute to a stable, strong mic stand. Literally the only thing I'd have liked more would have been to have the suspension arm's square tubes filled with some kind of dampening foam and/or coating/internally mounting the springs. But that's my nitpick. I'd give it 4.5 stars if that was an option based solely on that one pet peeve of mine.If you're looking for a reasonably priced suspension arm mic stand, this is what you want, period. You won't be disappointed, even if you're idiosyncratic like me.
