I was displeased to see that this left a blue mark in my white sink basin. The inner food container is plastic, not glass, which makes this a little bit less heavy but I am eliminating plastic from my food life and kitchen, so this makes me feel disappointed. The thermos effect of keeping the food temperature low or high works, but I can more easily put a food container inside a thermal insulating lunch bag until I get to the office. Okay product if you only want to bring a fist sized portion of food with you somewhere. Two lids keep the food from leaking but not perfect for soup because the inner lid isn’t perfect at sealing in stuff.

This is a solid well built thermos for taking hot or cold food with you to work or wherever you day takes you. The included prep cup is a nice touch and it has held up well after several uses and washes. I won't keep your food hot for 7 hours but it is still nice and warm after 4-5 hours. I tested this with some ramen going from stove to thermos and quickly closing it up as to not let out any heat. Overall, very happy with it but the price is a bit steep.

I already have a travel tumbler from this company so I was happy to try out this insulated container as well. I like this company's products. The insulation works well on hot foods but even better on cold. This comfortably holds 20 ounces of liquid in the stainless steel bowl but it also includes a "prep bowl" with a lid which can drop inside if you want to use it as a liner, or you can take it along to hold something you'd like to add in later, such as salad toppings. The prep bowl holds 18 ounces of liquid comfortably before you put on the lid and then that all fits comfortably inside. Would be nice if the prep bowl was made of glass but I'm not sure how practical it is for travel. The lid is large and substantial--almost too big for the span of my hand but I manage it--and the indented edges make it easy to grip. I also like the matte finish on the outside and the blue color is attractive. As to how well this works as an insulated container? I have only used it on cold items so far but it has become a go-to for me. I've brought homemade chia pudding along on road trips and recently I wanted to share some of my latest ninja creami creation with a friend who lives across town. I was especially surprised at how well this did with the ice cream, keeping it at a nice serving temperature for over an hour and not letting it become soup before I got where I was going. I would recommend this vacuum insulated bowl to anyone who needs to keep something at temperature for a while, but I've noticed that some of the colors are more pricey than others in this line. The price on this one seemed a little high although it is a certainly quality item.

I work summers as a helping hand at a produce farm. Everyone eats lunch at the main building at the same time, so there is often a long line at the microwaves. Since we only get 30 minutes to eat, sometimes you have to wolf down your food if you happen to be at the end of the line that day. Now with this S'well, I can load up hot food when packing my lunch, and it's still nice and warm come lunch time. Note, that's only 5 hours after I've packed lunch, so I have not tested the 7 hour claim for hot food, nor the 11 hour claim for cold food. The lid seals tight, and the body of this is very sturdy, which is great in case if I drop this on the cement floor. However, the pebble texture is great for holding on so there is very little chance of slipping out of my hands. I also like that this comes with a BPA-free interior bowl, so if you do happen to pack this up with food that needs to be heated later in the microwave, you can safely do so using the insert. Also, the insert can be a separate storage container, since it has its own lid. This is also just a nice looking container. I really like it.

I remember a few years ago when SIGG water bottles were all the rage, I tried out a S'well water bottle when they were first introduced and was blown away. The triple-layer insulation meant not only better insulation, it meant being able to carry hot drinks without burning your hand or cold drinks without a pool of condensation. And the lid was always tightly sealed so that nothing could get in or out. Today, of course there are countless bottle makers from Hydro Flask to Yeti to Stanley, but I still go back to the S'well.I'm excited to see that S'well is expanding beyond water bottles. "S'well Eats" appears to be their brand for food containers. This is the first I've seen, but if it's any indication of their quality, I'll be using these moving forward instead of plastic containers. The main bowl is entirely made of metal. It's not a huge bowl measuring 4 1/4" in diameter and about the same in height, but it's the perfect size for a snack or a light meal. The inside is beautiful brushed metal and the outside is a lovely blue powder coated finish that doesn't look like it'll chip or crack any time soon. They do say it's dishwasher safe, but they recommend hand-washing (which I agree with), as that'll prolong the beauty of the product. Warm soapy water is always best. They also stress not to use the outer bowl for long-term storage; it's intended to use for meal prep and transport. As I'd expect from S'well, the top lid seals exceptionally well. There's rubber in the lid that forms a tight seal so that no liquid, heat, or cold is going to get in or out.The inner bowl is made of plastic. It's called a "prep bowl", but I think it can be also used for transporting and eating. It's very well made, seals tight, and is microwave-safe.Extremely impressed with this, but not surprised given S'well's track record. It is a bit on the heavier side, but that's mainly because of the two 18/8 stainless steel layers and the layer of copper. While your coworkers are eating their various varieties of lukewarm slop, you can dazzle them with your piping hot food or nice cool desserts.Highly recommended.
