This part was to replace a failed original equipment part for a 2013 Hyundai Genesis exterior rear view mirror. The original part is a metal shaft with a plastic gear. The gears have a tendency to crack or break which makes the folding feature inoperative. This item being all metal eliminates that weakness. If you are looking at this part it is likely that you have already seen the You Tube video on how to replace it. Don't be intimidated by the process of replacing the part. Although it is very lengthy and tedious it can be done.
