Every Rubex boat propeller has a rubber interchangeable hub system. It is designed to eliminate chatter and vibration that competitive hub systems are prone to. Being rubber, the Rubex hub has no plastics to deteriorate. It can deflect 10% for softer shifting and to reduce prop shaft shock when the propeller strikes a submerged object. The Rubex hub will not spin in the propeller. Each Rubex Hub Kit comes with the hardware needed to install the propeller on the prop shaft. Unlike competitive hubs, the prop nut does not require periodic re-torqueing on a Rubex propeller system. The Rubex HR3 propeller is a performance prop for high speed planing hulls, giving excellent acceleration and top speed. It's high-rake blade design provides excellent bow lift, while the blade's cupping increases bite and reduces slip. 14.75" Diameter. 17" Pitch. Right Hand Rotation.

Recently bought a 2022 Bayliner VR4 with the Mercruiser 4.5L/200 HP engine and Alpha one Stern drive. My main lake is 2100 above sea level so it was not unexpected (also owning Waverunners that needed smaller impellers) that my new boat wasn't getting to full RPM even lightly loaded. With the stock Mercury Black Max (14.5x19) I was seeing 4350 RPM's and about 42MPH at WOT. With the Solas Rubex HR3 14.8x17 and smooth feeling Rubex hub kit, measured an easy 46.5MPH at 4860 RPM using Mercury Vessel view. That is a 5 percent slip rate! I could have gotten some more in calmer water. That is an impressive gain and puts the prop dead on in the peak of the RPM range. Can trim up way further. Hole shot 0-20 improved by 1.6 seconds, 0-30 by almost 2 seconds. 3.6-4 MPG at 3400-3500 RPM's,. Superior cornering grip and acceleration with no cavitation or blowing out like the Black Max. Introduced some stern lift so I'll need to lower my smart tab SX's to a looser setting next time out. The performance, improved holeshot, the feel, and the numbers exceeded my expectations, everything I was hoping to accomplish and I'm never that lucky. I have a 4 blade Quicksilver Q4 17 pitch and an old NOS Mercury aluminum 18P Alpha 4 blade to test out as well. For the price, this is a great value.
