These are very nice to have. In kindergarten we use golf pencils so I did have to rig it up a little to accommodate that. Occasionally the inside piece falls out of place but it is easy to fix.

I teach high school math and my students often forget writing utensils. I previously used a cup, but it didn’t hold enough and fell over easily. This dispenser releases them individually (for the most part) so students aren’t taking more than they should at one time. My students love it and my fellow teachers all bought one after they saw mine.

Bought this as a teacher gift - doesn't come with the pencil photo decal as advertised in the product photos. Was a little annoyed by that. I had planned to use vinyl/cricut to add the teacher's name, but I hadn't planned on needing the colors to create my own pencil decal as well. Also, as many reviewers stated, even after adjusting the settings, it doesn't consistently only dispense one pencil. As I've been testing it out, it gives an extra pencil about 25% of the time with the switch out to the most possible. If it is in as far as it goes, it gives 2-3 pencils 100% of the time, so I think 25% error is the best I'm gonna get. Not the end of the world, and I knew other reviewers had said this too. Some reviewers said they had no problem at all, so I figured it was still worth the try. Seems like there is inconsistency in the product, so just know that you're taking a chance for it to function or not as you intended. I am wondering if the weight of the pencil is a factor too...? I bought a bulk box of amazon basics pencils to fill it with, but maybe a different brand pencil would be different if it was a little lighter weight.
