The item is well made and swivels easily to prevent hose tangle. There are other sizes from other brands. Be sure to get the size that fits your pool hose.

The product works but is not air tight and requires hose weights to keep submerged.

As I read other reviews they do suck air if they come out off the water.

Works great, however it does have to stay submerged to prevent air getting sucked into the hose. I solved this by adding a small pool hose weight next to the swivel adapter.

Works Great For Pool Cleaning Robot Suction Lines-->But As All Swivels "They Must Remain Underwater" If Not Air Will Get Sucked Into Your Pump And Kill It. I Connected My Swivel To The Regulator Valve Set Up {Inline Horizontal} That Is Below The Waterline{Pool Vacume Line}...It Keeps The Suction Hose From Getting Twisted As Advertised.

Now I know why it is a frequently returned item...they leak air. But not enough to be a significant problem. In the winter when the water is very cold and the hose is stiff, my vacuum has a hard time overcoming the coils in the hose. I have 3 swivels in the hose so now it easily "uncoils" and the vacuum can reach the farthest portions of my pool.

The swivel joint leaks suction and will reduce the travel and suction power of your pool cleaner. This caused my pool cleaner to only move in a small circle in the deep end rather than travelling the entire pool. It did keep the hose from tangling but I took it off because it did not allow my pool cleaner to travel the entire pool. For this cheap price, they can't make a water tight slip joint and if you have lots of excess suction, it may work for you. They do make water tight slip joints (think propeller shafts etc. but they are usually ball bearing sealed units)

After just a couple weeks I found that the fitting does, in fact leak. Leaks from the swivel, not the couplings. Great a first, sending back now back now.
