This Lord of the Rings trick-taking game is an absolute gem! It brilliantly blends classic card mechanics with the rich lore and atmosphere of Middle-earth. Each character and suit feels purposefully designed, and the asymmetrical powers add a ton of depth and replayability. Whether you’re a fan of trick-taking games or Tolkien’s world (or both!), this game delivers on all fronts. The components are high-quality, and the gameplay is clever and challenging without being overwhelming. It's easily become a favorite at game night—strategic, immersive, and incredibly fun.

If you are a fan of the LOTR lore, this game is for you. You have to coordinate with other players to win each round. You progress through the Fellowship of the Rings story with each round. I play it with the whole family while listening to the Jackson movies soundtrack. It's become a weekend tradition for us.

Asked the A.I. specifically if chapter 16.5 - "Gifts of Galadriel" was now included in the game. It told me that it was. Received to and it is not. Otherwise, all else is fine. - one star for deceptive A.I.

We absolutely love playing The Crew: Mission Deep Sea and highly recommend it. So we were delighted to see another cooperative trick taking that we could add to the mix. The Lord of the Rings has its own strategy and unique game play its great! I hope they come out with the other books!

If you like Bridge, Whist and games like The Crew, you need to buy this. Really well designed game that has clearly been tested to destruction. Thematically very good given the unavoidable shadow of a track taking card game, but I still think you will enjoy it. Sometimes tough to play, at other a fun romp. Not the cheapest card game, but excellent production values. One of the best games of 2023 so far.

Great game. My husband and I played a 2-player game and enjoyed the challenge of a cooperative track taking game. Challenging and fun especially since all players have to work together to be successful and move to the next level. The graphics on the cards are cool too.

Awesome trick taking game based on JRR’s IP, plausible well at 2 with great innovative 2 player rules …Awesome components but would recommend sleeving cards if you want the main deck to survive their journey !

If you liked “The Crew” you’ll love this game! Similar in that each player will draft a character with an objective to meet each round. But the slow build in difficult and complexity through an 18 chapter campaign, with special events injected throughout that alter the basic rules of the game, keeps it really fresh in a fun new way. A definite buy for coop/TT/LoTR fans… thankfully I am all 3!

This easy to play and pleasantly cooperative card game gives players an opportunity to go through the classic story of the Lord of the Rings in trick-taking fashion, working together to tell the story of the fellowship of the ring. The game is full of clever mechanisms to introduce characters each round of play across a campaign that tells the story and gives players the opportunity to work together to make the way through this wonderful book. You’ll get a lot of play out of this and it’s a great price for beautifully appointed cards.

I bought this game after demoing it at a local banking convention. I couldn't buy this game fast enough! It's very interesting for a cooperative trick taking game, but kind of tells the story we all love through the game. Very affordable if you're a fan of the books.
