I purchased a used Breedlove Solo fretless acoustic bass, which came with no case or gig bag. Breedlove no longer manufactures the gig bag and recommended I try TKL. I had owned this model TKL in the past for a Michael Kelly Firefly and a Boulder Creek acoustic bass and liked it then as well. It is not light, and as a plywood case it is very tough! I would caution to folks to look at the overall length as depending on your vehicle, it barely fits across the back seat of our Rav4 and GMC Canyon.

My main goal in writing this is to communicate the fact that this fits the Warwick Alien 6 String, and how it fits. Someone else had written a review saying it fit the Alien 4 string, and I was really grateful to that person for taking the time. My second goal is to talk about the case quality. The Alien 6 String Deluxe is roughly 48" total length, and just under 7" thick. The headstock with the tuners is about 6" wide and 6.5" long. The lower bout is a hair under 17" and the upper bout is just under 12.5". The body of the guitar is 22" long. The fit in this case is tight. The tuners almost touch the wall of the case and you have to be pretty careful of the strap button (which is also an audio jack) and the knobs on the pre-amp. Otherwise, it's a great fit, with a perfect fit in terms of touching the strings. As far as the case itself, what can I say. Made in Canada and really instills a sense of security. It's heavy, no doubt, but it's really beautifully made. I've never had a case I like better. I'm thoroughly impressed with the craftsmanship and the appearance. TKL did a fantastic job.

I've recently purchased a Trinity River Eagle Acoustic Bass but it didn't come with a case. This TKL 7868 Deluxe Acoustic Bass Hard Case fits perfectly around the bass. The Eagle has a long neck and that is usually what prevents a case from working but this one fits the full 29 1/2 inches for a total length of 50 inches inside the case. I might add a small amount of augmented form to prevent the bass from wiggling while on long trips just to be safe. From the TKL website...the inside dimensions are Length = 50.000", Upper Bout = 13.000", Lower Bout = 17.500", Depth 6.250" for this case and they make one with an arched cover as well. Good hunting.

Well I got this case because the measurements said my guitar would fit in it. I got it in and tried it, but nope. I think if it had no fuzzy stuff for protection, it may have fit. The case itself was nice and we'll built. It had a slight imperfection on the front like it got cut or something but other than that it is a great case.

Tried several Acoustic bass guitar cases, but could not find one big enough for my Takamine EGB25-BK acoustic bass guitar. This case fits my guitar perfectly. It's nice looking and well made. There is plenty of space under the neck for cords, straps and batteries. I love it.

Very nicely fits my bass like it was made for it. The build quality is very solid, and the case is easy to operate. I use it once a week to when playing with friends or driving to my teacher. Will probably easily fit the longer scale 5 strings Warwick Alien (34")

I had this case with a Michael Kelly Dragonfly bass and used it for my Boulder Creek 5 String bass. Solid case, Very secure, about three inches longer in the neck than needed, but is a great case. The compartment under the neck is huge, and is awesome. I have one major complaint, the handle could be better. TKL, if you are listening, please consider a nicer handle. A leather one, or something with rubber padding. It would be a nice touch!

This case is constructed OK, but seems like it's made to be a generic size for acoustic basses of all brands. So the size of case body is over 6" deep inside and the body cavity is sized for rather large upper and lower bouts. My bass is a smaller body and not as deep - so the case is kind of a sloppy fit.I had to make some custom modifications to make this case's interior fit my bass. And if I told you what it entailed to do it, you'd croak.I had to deconstruct all the interior parts and liners to the case and refill the areas with additional foams - then replace the "plush" faux fur lining. It was a pretty big ordeal to remove all the outside wall lining in the body cavity and the bottom fur, too - without damaging the lining, that is. But I've built cases for other electonic (not guitars) musical equipment over the years, so the results of my "madness" weren't as frightening as it would be if you haven't done this type of work before.Once I had the case down to the original wood shell, I found that the case wood itself is only about 1/8" ply - which is kinda scrawny. So I made a template of the body cavity area and cut an additional 1/8" luann plywood shape and glued it in place to strengthen the case for better protection of the body. Then I fit ester foam "smiley-shaped" shims at the body base (at the strap pin) to make the cavity smaller and to fit my bass. I used (3) 1 1/2" foam shapes stacked on each other and glued them into the case, which made them almost flush with the bottom section of the case lip. (I'll buy some of this same "plush lining" grey faux fur at a local fabric store to glue on top of these foam fillers to complete the look of the case as "original". In the the "new smaller" body cavity section, I cut a template of the this new body size (my bass) and cut a 1" foam to glue to the plywood body of the case. Then I replaced the fur lining of the body over the new 1" foam. This lifted the body of my bass to make the neck fit flat across the neck section (storage compartment) and make the bass fit flat and flush inside the case. Now there's no movement of the bass inside the case, and no pressure on the neck from how it fit in the case originally by tilting at an angle and letting the headstock push against the lid of the case, while the base was sitting down too low in the body of the case.Whew.........well they REALLY wanted my opinion on this case. So, friends and neighbors - that's what you get here.It was worth the lower price - ONLY - if you want to go to the work of refabricating parts of it to fit the bass properly. With the new plywood insert, and by reshaping the inside cavity to fit - (and replacing the lining) - then the case is now made to fit to support the bass properly and thereby being reliable to not allow the guitar to "slop around" inside the case and possibly causing some damage of some kind (which is NOT the function of a case made to protect and instrument). If you have a JUMBO sized body on your acoustic bass - then this one might work for you with better results. But if your bass is closer to the size of a standard acoustic guitar - but with a longer neck - then you might find this case to be "sloppy."The entire reason for having to buy this size of case is, of course, the additional neck length of the bass. No standard acoustic guitar cases fit it - but only are short about TWO INCHES to accomodate the neck.Acoustic "guitar" cases of this comparable quality can be found on the internet for under $50. But they're not big enough. Then to get a case made which is another 3" to 4" longer in neck length, the price goes up dramatically. Since there is very little - even negligible - difference in the amount of materials it requires to make this case, the increased price in bass cases is foolishly overpriced. The case companies get us bass players in a vise to pay more (a LOT more) for a case simply because there's not as many acoustic bass players and basses sold as there are acoustic guitars.Pity the poor bass players......but I still couldn't be convinced of the justification for much higher pricing for these cases. There's no reasons for it whatsoever! Maybe an additional $10 over an acoustic guitar case - but not 50% or 60% higher price! So my opinion is.......pricing is unjustified. You can make this case fit - but with some additional expense and with some time and skills to remodel it.Meanwhile, the bass players pay through the "neck" for these types of "specialties". Go figure...........
