It seems to hold water without drainage. The photo shows it to be shiny brass colored but it is not. It is a polished brass. Very easily installed. Seems to operate well.

These were a game changer. No more ugly, worn drain stoppers. Fit beautifully. Function well.

I ordered one of these in October 2023. It was shiny gold, like the image, and worked perfectly in our sink. When I reordered last week, I received a matte, brushed gold version that was shorter and didn't fit as well. Assuming there had been a shipping mix-up, I reordered. Same thing: different color and shape than pictured and expected. It doesn't match our bathroom hardware and doesn't fit properly. Returning. Again.

After accidentally dropping MY GRANDMOTHER'S RING down the bathroom drain, then my favorite earrings, I HAD to do SOMETHING other than bug my boyfriend to dismantle the P-trap again. SO I saw an ad on TV for a universal drain stopper & instead of paying $30 for one that didn't match my fixtures, I figured Amazon would have a gold one & they did, for 1/3 the price! It arrived quickly, before I had another opportunity to drop something else down the drain. I opened the box, popped it right in the sink & it worked like a charm! Not only does it act as a stopper (I DID fill up the sink to try it), but it will catch anything that manages to slip out of my hands again. I couldn't be happier & would recommend this product & this seller 100%.

I have a classic sink, a 25 year old Delta Innovations with a standard 1.25 inch hole. Yes the stopper goes into that hole. But no combination of the silicone/washers gaskets will make it fit tightly without leaving a gap between the stopper and the sink surface. On the other hand it does look good (I sure hope the one reviewer who said its poor quality gold paint and tarnishes rapidly is wrong!) and I did not want the hassle to return it. So I put a thin bead of caulk underneath the metal disk and pushed it down on the sink surface to make a seal. I hope that I dont get flow to slow down with things trapped in there too quickly - I wouldnt mind prying it open once a year to clean and recaulking it back but if its more often I am going to try Drano and if it does not survive, well there goes my $20.To be honest I suppose it could sit there on the hole - even though there was a tiny gap - it would not be easy to see and after all the water will go to the same place . Alternative screw in ones are at least as expensive and at least on one of my sinks I could not loosen the nut under the sink that held the old drain flange together - this does not require any of that....
