Doesn’t make the door slam shut, just goes by itself. Make sure your door hinges are straight, mine were slightly off and the door wouldn’t shut all the way, now it works fine. Door closes after being swung open. Retouching up the paint from reinstalling the pin.

You've gotta use a lot of muscle pry the "jaws" far enough apart to install one of these. if the door hinges are in a corner, you have very little room to do this. Mine are in a corner, and I am afraid the spring will break , the product will fly out of my fingers and damage something, or the jaws will snap shut on my fingers and hurt me. I have no doubt that one will do the job on my bathroom door - just gotta get up the courage to try installing it. Wish I had a pipe wrench - that might help.

I couldn’t figure out how to install these springs. They didn’t fit a standard door pin.
