As someone who doesn't always multitask well, I benefit from writing little reminders to myself to do this or that. When it comes to grabbing my attention, index cards seem to work better than sticky notes, because they are harder to ignore while traveling in one's pocket or lunchbox. This pack of index cards certainly "does the trick" for me.These index cards are delightfully BLANK on both sides, and thus the potential uses are only limited by one's imagination. They are true to size, at 4 inches by 6 inches per card. The color spectrum of the ostensibly white cardstock seemed just a teensy bit on the "bluish" side of pure white, when viewed with human eyeballs. Don't get me wrong, these are white index cards. But they're NOT a warm white, they're definitely more of a cool white.Exactly 120 four-inch-by-six-inch index cards were included in the package (yes, I counted them). The cards arrived in a "flat pack" (see associated photo), and were initially packed side-by-side as four stacks of 30 cards per stack. Unfortunately they were four LOOSE stacks, and there was some jumbling amongst the stacks of cards during transit. The 2x2 grid of stacked index cards had a tendency to "fold" along the gaps that otherwise would separate the stacks. The folding action, combined with intermingling of cards between stacks, led to a few cards getting bent edges during transit. My suggestion to the manufacturer would be to use tissue paper to separate the stacks in some fashion.I stacked all 120 index cards together onto a suitable kitchen scale; the total mass of the stack was 432 grams. The total area of cardstock in the whole stack is 120 × (24 square inches) = 2880 square inches = 1.858 square meters. Thus the cardstock I received has an apparent areal density of (452 grams)/(1.858 square meter) = 233 GSM.The product description said the areal density was 250 grams per square meter. The product I received was perhaps 7% less heavy than what was stated. Your mileage may vary.

I ordered the Utron 120 Sheets 4x6 Cardstock, 250 GSM Blank Postcard Paper, Matte White with the intention of using them as unlined index cards. However, when they arrived, their exceptional quality and weight made me reconsider. These cards are twice the thickness of standard index cards, and their smooth matte finish lends an elegance that goes beyond everyday stationery. They work beautifully with ballpoint pens, gel pens, markers, acrylic paint pens, and regular pencils, offering a seamless writing experience. However, because they lack tooth, layering with colored pencils is nearly impossible.Instead of using them as index cards, I plan to fold them in half and bind them into 3" x 4" mini sketch journals, making the most of their sturdy build and refined texture. While originally intended as index cards, their superior thickness and smooth elegance make them perfect for creative projects. Highly recommended for artists, writers, and DIY enthusiasts!

I needed some blank postcards for a postal project I'm working on. They had to be the correct size; postcard size, which these are, and most importantly, the paper stock has to be porous and not slick, because there is a lot of writing with ink pen I need to do and if the paper is slick the ink will smear and that would ruin everything. I got these cards and they are just the right size and the paper is just perfect for writing messages in ink that don't smear. I am so pleased with these. And another aspect of this project is being able to have the ability to glue things on to the cards. Once again the card surface is key, the stamps and other paper things I'll need to glue on to them have to adhere. Slick paper would not work. I just did a lot of writing in ink on some cards and glued a bunch of stuff on to them and they are exactly what I was hoping for. Very cool. My project can proceed immediately.

The Good -- this stock is thick enough to withstand a Sharpie stress-test; there was zero bleed-through, which is great. The brightness is also good, easily right at 100. Edges were clean and I had no miscut cards. The Bad --while thicker than cheap 4x6 cards, they aren't luxe, either. Personally, I wouldn't use these for any type of invitation. They are too thin and they develop bad waves and dips, as well. I ran a couple through my color laser printer and I wasn't really happy with the results. Even when just printing text on them I wound up with waves and dips that got worse as the card cooled. The result was pretty unacceptable for anything but filing in your recipe box.The Ugly -- the packaging is terrible. And I don't mean the packaging for shipping, I mean from the manufacturer. I took a picture of the packaging; it is a flat, cheap plastic bag. Although they had probably started in four equal stacks originally, by the time it reached me, those stacks had crushed into each other, causing corners to bend, and a lot of warping and bending to develop. This is entirely due to the way they are packed at the factory, too. I've never seen anything like that, and I have ordered a lot of small cards. They've always come in a single brick because that gives them the greatest strength to withstand the rigors of shipping. And given that these are 17 cents each, and are designed to be used in a nicer setting, this is a serious problem. If these were hygienic paper thin cards costing 3 cents each, I wouldn't really make much of this issue, but if you are planning on using them as wedding invitations and they arrive looking like they did, you aren't going to be happy. So that's the review -- they are decent stock and pretty close to 100 brightness. They will resist even heavy ink without bleeding through. But they don't hold their flat shape very well, and are so poorly packaged that you are going to suffer a lot of wastage. If they fixed the packaging problem, the star rating would probably improve.
