This is a high quality substantial drain that should last for years and is super easy to install. Amazon sells it for $10 less than Home Depot. Unfortunately Amazon forgot to seal the shipping envelope and so it arrived missing the faceplate and screws.

Standard pliers handles didn't work as a removal tool. I had to use a larger pair with channelocks and a paint peeler to heat the old drain to get the putty soft enough to unscrew. The old rod-lift stopper was also corroded in place. Needed PB Blaster to work for a day before I could pry it up.Installing the new stopper after the old one was out took 15 minutes. I should have done this when the tub was installed by Larry and Daryl. I've had a slow drain that was hard to open and close since then. Now its fast and easy.

Bought this to see if I could get it to fit the piping for an acrylic claw foot tub. Went through many ideas but found this that allows it to screw in with space for the 5/8" thick tub, gaskets and putty. Quality brass, good machining and fit. Pop up drain unscrews for cleaning and assembly.

Used this pop up style tub drain to replace an existing flip style that had failed. Unit was well made, had good weight and finish was sound. True for both drain and faceplate. Especially appreciated the brass adapter sleeve as I had no sense for the thread diameter until I pulled the old out. I did need the sleeve so good to have on hand. Tip as others have commented, the gasket/washer that comes with the kit installs on the underside of the tub between the tub and the pipe. Not the top! Would recommend at least as far as initial product install and impression. Time will tell on the durability.

Give it a 4 because once in a while, the rubber sealing ‘donut’ gets flipped so that inside is down and outside is up, so no seal at all. Can easily fix by hand in a few seconds, not a real big deal. Seals well when rubber is in correct position (outside down). Install was a bit painful for my case but that problem had nothing to do with this specific hardware.

has been working great so far. The rubber that provides the seal when push to close sometimes does not seal. It will sometimes stick to the upper part letting water pass. I sometimes will have to use my hand to push the seal down so water does not go down the drain. But since I rarely need to fill the bathtub this does not bother me. It is a bit of an annoyance but the item works regardless. There is no hair catcher but what can you do.

After trying to find the correct size for my plumbing I came across this kit with the optional adapter. The piece is actually quite heavy and feels like it will hold up for sometime. It went in easy and I love the push button to pop open and close the drain. The two hole plate cover for the overflow is perfect. Everything looks really nice and matches my high end faucet set.
