This is for installing or removing jewelery. It wasn't designed to work of my 6g hoops. I modified it significantly to get it to do what I needed. It took me 2 attempts. That is I ruined the first pair.

It is a very helpful tool for the thicker gauge captive rings. This longer tool gives better prying force and made it a LOT easier to place the ball.

I use a 5mm 7/16 segment ring for my septum, so I needed a sturdy pair that wouldn’t tear my face up. These did just the trick. Haven these around I’m able to swap out rings when ever I want👌

I wanted to up the gauge of my earring from a 10g to a 6g. I never had a problem popping out the ball on my 10g by hand so I didn't put much thought into needing anything special for a 6g. Well, I was wrong. It took me 2 pairs of pliers to get the ball out of the 6g and no amount of strength I could muster to put the ball back in and scratching the hell out of my earring. Lucky for me, I had a 2nd earring in the same size and I didn't want to make the same mistake again.These ring opening pliers are fairly big and heavy duty. But, they did the job of 2 pliers without scratching the metal to open up the 6g ring I had. 1... 2... Bob's your uncle and I had the ball out and back in with using 1 hand. For heavier gauged rings, I can personally recommend it.

First let me say the the price of this tool is outrageous however I hope to get A LOT of use from it. It is a solid sturdy tool with some weight to it (wasn’t expecting that) which can make it a bit cumbersome to handle when opening & closing small hinged (currently 4g) earrings. Overall it does what it’s supposed to do & it’ll be around for a long while to open & close more!

I had put off acquiring a set of these pliers for so long but once decided to purchase a set & having actually received them, I finally realised how silly I had been all for the sake of a mere few dollars. I have a Prince Albert Piercing (best thing I could ever have got) & if you have a PA these pliers just make the whole job of changing various PA styles etc so much easier to manipulate & like myself, you'll wonder why you hadn't purchased a set a long time ago!!Good quality & fairly heavy construction & as stated above if you are into the sheer erotic pleasures of having a Prince Albert piercing this is one tool (no pun intended) that you need in your tool box forthwith!!

I ordered this product because a few septum rings I purchased proved to be impossible to remove. I did a lot of research and decided it might be best to purchase this tool to make the removal process a lot easier. The tool came quickly. Was in perfect condition and got the job done. They are very large, but not too large. They are also heavy. I equate that to solid construction and means they will be sturdy and dependable for many uses. Very happy with this purchase.
