This is a set of plastic pieces that wrap around a staircase banister to allow a child/ pet gate to be mounted differently vs. the way it was manufactured - vs the gate being bolted to the banister.Note that this is not designed for Large or XL Newel posts - meaning bulky or decorative end posts that are 4” or more will not work with this set. ( see example - my newel post that is too large. The listing states these details in mm. The size perimeters are 50mm to 100mm and it translates to 1.96” minimum to 3.93” maximum for square, round posts. In my opinion, egg shaped turned posts are likely to work if they fit in this size range.This is a unique item that fits a niche and solves several problems in one convenient pkg. Good item for the purpose - I recommend verifying the size of your staircase posts before ordering.
