Lee makes the best crimp die for reloading. Not only does it make a perfect crimp it also resizes the brass on the return stroke. Almost impossible to make a cartridge that does not fit the chamber.

It works great for my bunny far+s to medium loads. Full on loads still get a healthy crimp but I load very few full on mag loads and this die seems much easier on my brass.

I have been reloading for a long time. I started using Lee Factory crimp dies when they first came out. I have several progressive presses but generally don't load fully progressively. I find it just as fast to size and decap brass first as a separate step. I use a Lee APP which is super fast. And this avoids all the grit that you get with decapping. It also frees up a station so you can seat and crimp separately too. Adjusting the seating and crimping in one operation is a pain so being able to do it at two different stations is great. This die also gives your round an final size which is nice.

I reload 44 mag, rifle. Gave my reloading equip away when I retired. Bombed around in an RV for 2 years . Got tired of that and Bought a small house in Texas and decided to start again. Decided on the Lee loader then bought the Lee breach lock hand press to make things faster and more accurate. Gotta say, this crimper/sizer is awesome. It really does the job well. Gotta watch your rounds close but dang, I really like the results I get. Consistent results are what we’re after and it does deliver that. It crimps and sizes at the same time. It’s an awsome product an I’m obviously impressed.

I needed it for crimping .44 Mag. cartridges for use in my Lever Action with FTX Bullets. As cases are shortened for the Bullets due to the diff. ogive, the tapered crimp on my RCBS die would not get far enough to crimp. I do the same for my .35 Rem and 45-70 for the FTX shortened case. Not much shorter but same problem with all. This solves it.

It works, but it should be included with the 44 Magnum die set like it is for the 44 Special die set, especially since the 44 Magnum needs it more. The 44 Special dies are identical to the 44 Magnum dies, as far as I can tell, and they cost less and include the FCD.

I love Lee Factory Crimp dies. I have them for every pistol and rifle caliber I reload. They just seem to create that perfect crimp for your plinking rounds and even for some of the more accurate loads I produce. I am not a competitive shooter, just a hobby shooter - but I think that the loads I have put together fire pretty accurately.I also like to point out that on semi-auto handguns (and carbines), that prior to owning this tool I would have to deal with the occasional failure to feed or the beloved jam of my firearm using the crimp on my seating dies. Ever since I started using my Lee Factory Crimp Dies I have had zero mishaps (hopefully not jinxing myself here) with failure to feed or jams in my firearms with reloads.Get yourself these in all of your favorite calibers - it is a very small investment to ensure rounds aren't being wasted on the range due to ramping or feeding issues.
