**Background:** I recently purchased a Breville Infuser BES 840 XL, and I am still learning the ins and outs of the machine, but I am constantly tinkering. This looked interesting, so I thought I would give it a try.**Build Quality:** They seem similar to the OEM in terms of material quality. The holes are very different, much smoother and consistently cut with a completely different pattern. The fit is exact, and there was no issue installing and removing it, which I have done several times. The factory screw is an Allen key, not a flathead, as the listing states.**Function:** There are so many variables: beans, the roast of those beans, the age of the beans, grind, portafilter and basket, distribution method, WDT, and tamping pressure. So I kept everything exactly the same, and I think I got a little higher pressure with a faster flow rate and maybe less channeling. However, it did not eliminate all channeling, nor did it magically give me the perfect draw.Does it give better results? Honestly, I am not sure. But it's affordable, and it’s fun to experiment and try different things; it’s just another tool in my journey toward my home espresso obsession.

Worth the price? 4/5Would I buy again? 4/5Breville espresso machines are nice, but they can be improved on. There are only a few modifications that can be done to my machine, and one is the shower screen. This has helped as my old shower screen was dripping unevenly. After an easy install, I noticed that there is now a balance of how the water is coming out. It's affordable too, so I can get another if needed, which I definitely will.
