I have a crape myrtle next to my in-ground pool and it drops millions of teeny tiny flower petals onto water surface. These socks are very strong and last for several weeks with me rinsing it out each day. It has saved me from having to clean out the pump filter from everyday to once a month. Highly recommend. I do have a rock on bottom of basket to hold skimmer basket down. Chlorine tablets will eat holes in socks so I now have a pool float for chlorine pucks. Best invention yet for pool maintenance!

I bought these for my skimmer basket because I have a lot of pollen that gets in my pool. I put one on the skimmer basket and went inside for a couple of hours. When I came out, my sand filter pump was struggling. I checked the basket and it had quite a bit of pollen in it. It is extremely fine mesh, and collects/traps everything. My pump was struggling to get water through it fast enough after pollen had built up. I decided I wouldn’t be able to use it for that purpose because I’m worried if I leave it unattended, my pump would be damaged due to lack of water flow. So it is VERY effective, just doesn’t work for me because of the amount of pollen in my area.

These socks are the best thing ever for vacuuming your pool. I have vacuumed our pool too many times, with very little success. What a waste of time, water and electricity. I actually enjoy cleaning our pool now! The first picture I've attached is our pool floor prior to using the skimmer socks. And this is actually after several days of vacuuming, without the socks. Pictures 2 & 3 show the difference, after using the socks. Picture 4 is the first used sock in our skimmer basket, after the first pass. Last picture is to compare the used vs. unused socks. We have a large oval semi-in ground pool, 18'x43'. I changed the socks frequently, along with backwashing and filter-to-waste. Backwash water was almost perfectly clear, with very little sediment in the pump filter basket.

I call them diapers for my skimmer. These bags stop mustard algae and green algae from going into your pump. Sand or poly balls will not stop these algaes from coming back into your pool. I will never be without these ever again! All right. I'm adding to my review. I will never be without these socks. It saves me from having to shut my pump off, close all the valves and then struggle to open the skimmer before the pump to clean it out. I also bought an inline vacuum filter. These socks fit on it perfectly. It stops everything from going into my filter. Again. I can't say enough. I will never be without these!!! 9/23/2023. I just closed my pool down. I removed the poly balls from the filter tank and they had beth little debris. I was able to run them thru the washer and now can use them again next year. Before buying the skimmer diaper I couldn't reuse the poly balls.

We ordered a new liner for our pool this year. Unfortunately, we had some delays in finalizing the installation and the water ended up turning green and collecting all sorts of pollen/ tree debris etc before it was up and running. When we finally got the pool fired up, I stuck these in the skimmer baskets, and was shocked at what they caught! It filtered out the pollen and everything else tiny that would’ve taken the filter a few days to catch. Now that the water is clear and ready to go, I am not using them, but definitely a good option if you are clearing up your pool when you open or throughout the season. Just be sure to check and replace them frequently in the beginning. As you can see from the picture, it caught a lot and did start to affect how much water was going through the skimmer lines to the filter. For information, we have an inground saltwater pool with a sand filter.

These skimmer socks work great. Some of the reviews mention hard to fit standard basket. I haven’t had that issue. I install the sock from back to front and find it easier to install that way. By that I mean I have the basket in front of me and I install the sock starting at the part of the basket that is closes to me and pull it away from me towards what is at that moment the front of the basket. If I try it any other way it’s a bit of a struggle. As far as the functionality of the sock, it holds plenty of grass clippings and other debris that would otherwise end up in the pool filter. And it’s easier to save the frogs that get in our pool since they don’t get sucked all the way down to the skimmer basket bottom. Totally worth it.

I was a little concerned about how they would work. To my surprise they work perfectly for our needs. We live in a wooded area and our pool constantly gets debri in it. I have to fish the chlorine sticks out of all the bugs, leaves and other miscellaneous things I find in the skimmer. I received them, immediately took one out of the bag and placed it on the skimmer over the chlorine sticks. I was amazed it did not change the pressure on the pump even though they seemed a little thick. I checked the skimmer basket several hours later and there was tons of little debri trapped but not in my filter, also a small amount of scummy looking stuff was trapped, maybe pollen and lotion. Yeah!! and I did not have to fish through everything to get the chlorine sticks out to empty the skimmer basket. I just pulled the sock out and place a new one on the basket. I emptied the one I retrieved and rinsed it with the hose. I set it in the sun to dry. I received these socks over a week ago and have only used 3 to date and I change them every day, sometimes twice if there was a storm creating more debri. I just clean them and then reuse them. The 30 pack will definitely last me a long time, maybe even in to next season, but for sure I will never open and operate the pool without these.
