This metal plate is very well thought out for the 4 pin trailer connection. I bought it because I recently bought a hitch from the same brand for my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude. In fact, I bought everything from the same brand and I couldn't be happier with how perfect everything turned out. I bought the hitch, the electrical kit and this metal plate to hold the 4 pin connector. This brand has met all my expectations.

the wiring kit looked very high quality. All parts needed for instillation were included. The installation instructions were fair, I had to look for a video (e.trailers. com, outstanding Job) for more detailed instruction to install. THE WIRES WERE TO SHORT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE! I had to mount the controller box half way up the rear quarter panel. And as for the highly sticky tape that was supposed to stick to something, it didn't. Zip tied to an existing wire harness to get the extra length needed for the connections. Running the power cable to the battery was defiantly the most challenging. Thank goodness the video from e trailer. com showed a manageable route that saved a lot of guessing. The power cable had plenty of length to make it to the battery and all the proper connections were provided with the kit. All the vehicle lights work properly, now I need to test the trailer!

Everything is quite plug and play. Did not want to take 12v power supply all the way up to the battery under the passenger seat so I brought powerfully up behind the rear gate hitch and tied into the 12v aux power outlet in the cargo area. 12v is only keyed powered but don't know when I would ever be towing something without the vehicle running.

Had I done that it would have been much faster. The tail light harnesses snapped in just like OEM. The reason for 4 stars is that it would have been nice to have a shrink tube for the splices and loom for the line to the battery. Also this is the first Curt lighting assembly I’ve gotten that doesn’t have the cap for the 4 pin connector. So I need to buy one of those.

What took me the longest about install was routing the wires where they were under the vehicle discretely. Took about 1 hour 30 mins while also wrestling a 3 year old and needing to jack the car up to run the power wire.

This wiring harness worked in my 2021 Jeep Grand Cheroke Limited just fine. It took me a couple of hours to install, and zip tie up all the wires. All my trailer lights worked fine when I was done. Just follow the instructions and make sure you route the wires where they won't come into contact with moving parts under your vehicle. You will need more zip ties than the ones that come with the harness to tie up the wires correctly. So, make sure you have extra zip ties around before you start the install. I used about 25 zip ties all together. This is a good quality trailer wiring harness that worked fine for me.

HOWEVER, HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE, SOMEONE MUST HAVE FELT THE SAME WAY. THEY STOLE THE BOX I HAD MOUNTED AND BOLTED BY BREAKING THE BOX OFF AT THE MOUNTING TAB, CUTTING THE WIRES AND PULLING THE WIRE FROM THE LIGHT HOOKUP LEAVING THE BROWN WIRE BARE AND CUTTING THE REMAINDER. DIDN'T NOTICE IT UNTIL I WENT TO HOOK UP TRAILER. HAVE TO FIND A BETTER PLACE TO SECURE THE BOX. MUST HAVE KNOWN WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR.
