Grabbed this little brass compass hoping for something a bit heavier in hand, but it still does the job. It’s got a nice vintage look and works well enough for quick direction checks. Would be great for kids, scouts, or as a cool keychain piece. probably great for long hikes because of the lighter weight.

A neat gift for any boy scout in your life! It’s hefty and looks fancy, also the surface is perfect for anyone who has an engraver. Our kid loves it.

As far as I can tell, it works well and seems accurate. It's about what I would expect for the price (about $10 at the time of this review). It's not heirloom quality by any means, but if you're looking for a compass to actually use (as opposed to a display piece), it's great.

This is a very cute and shiny compass, great for costumes, kids, and maybe for camping or hiking. I love the polished look, it makes it look like it is from a movie. The quality is ok for the price. The actual compass is somewhat reliable, you just need to give it a minute. The details in the inside are cute as well.

This compass opens just like a stopwatch, by pressing the crown. The lid is even spring-loaded. The cover over the dial is even glass, and pretty thick. A small dot of glow in the dark paint is applied to the north end of the needle. It isn't entirely perfect; there was some excess glue holding the glass in, but it came off pretty easily. The surface finish on the outside also has a few tiny pits, but given the price, it isn't enough for me to take a star off. It's a great looking thing, and would be great as a prop or for actual navigation usage.

This polished brass golden keychain compass is reminiscent of the compass my grandfather gave me when I was a young child. It has a classic design, with a stick-styled compass needle that properly points to magnetic north as it should.I completely trust it for basic navigation. But where I think this one really shines is as a gift. When closed, it carries like a pocket-watch. Press the button on the crown, and the cover pops open. It’s very elegant. The only thing I would have preferred is some sort of texture/pattern on the outside of the case. My fear is that the smallest scratch will detract from the beauty, whereas a brushed finish would be more forgiving of scratches.

well made, pretty, fliptop lid is sturdy (i.e. the hinge is sturdy so it doesn't waggle like a low cost hinge might do). The latch that releases the lid works well.

The exterior is a mirrored texture. Inside, under the lid, is a swirled design. The compass works well and will serve as a reliable guide when needed. Instructions for use are included, if needed.
