Got this to have as a "picture in picture" function so my infant could watch dancing fruit while I am able to watch something else (using two casting devices). Would like an on/off option.

Multiple security systems that can't see each others cameras, but all have HDMI out. merged into a single screen... EASY to setup, remote mirrors switch control of screen layout. Very happy with a couple nits.If no HDMI input, the system outs up a BRIGHT color bar screen which is annoying and seemingly no way to turn off. Accessing a single input to view full screen is a single button on the remote (nice), but no way to quickly return to original layout, you must cycle thru the screen options. The remote works well, but must be pointed DIRECTLY at the unit. cant complain about the price !

I like how much control over the screen layout that this HDMI switch gives me. And there's no noticeable degradation to any of the video signal quality on the output side (my pictures show interference that doesn't exist to the eye). The remote (and switches on the device) lets me switch between 4 different layouts of 4 screens, or individual full screens of any of the inputs. There's a 2 second delay when switching screens, but it's tolerable, and in any 4-screen mode, the audio can be selected for each screen individually. That's a lot of control over the video and audio from this unit. A 2000 mA power plug is included, 4K resolution is available, and a color bar shows when no signal is detected. This product performs as advertised, is easy to use and has added a nice new dimension to how I watch TV, and that makes it a worthwhile purchase IMO.

The short version: If you want to display four 1080p video sources at once (and no less! See my full review for more details), this will get the job done, quite well in fact, in an affordable package. The longer version: Let me start with my biggest complaint about this device: Any unoccupied HDMI input displays one of those barcode test splash screens rather than just being a blank/black screen. (For US customers, it's like what they'd put on TV for a test of the emergency broadcast system back in the day. You know the big, colorful bars that take up the whole screen? That.) This means you absolutely HAVE to use all four inputs at all times. If you have a given day where you just wanted to use three of the inputs for whatever reason, the unused fourth input will be an eyesore. This is a really unfortunate design choice that I've deducted a star for.Aside from that glaring design flaw, this product works perfectly. Although it only supports individual 1080p inputs, it supports either 1080p or 4k output to the destination display. If your display supports 4k, then this means every 1080p input will be full resolution without requiring any downscaling in the 2x2 output configuration. (2x2 1080p = 4k-worth of pixels.) If everything I just said was gibberish to you, just know the 4k output option DOES have a point and will be higher quality if your TV supports it, even though your 4 inputs will be 1080p.There is a button that allows you to make Input 1 fullscreen if you want, meaning if you have a primary device you use most of the time, but sometimes want picture in picture, you can do that easily. When you're using the 4 display mode, there's also a button to switch which source you're pulling audio from. It also shows on screen which input's audio is being used. I cycled through the audio of all my inputs repeatedly and it worked every single time without any glitches.

I have a projector in my living room and it only has one HDMI port so switching between the FireTV and the game console was always a bit of a pain until I got this engenius little HDMI switch. I can now have 4 different devices connected up to my projector and with the ability to have all 4 of them on the screen at once is really an awesome step up as I can have one device being the primary with sound and the other I can play my game so both of use can use the projector without having to compromise as to who gets to use the projector. The wireless remote does make things a whole lot easier to switch between the devices while on the couch and not having to mess around with cables. Especially since I can now mount the projector high up on a shelf with the rest of the equipment and it’s out of the way making my living room area that much more open and enjoyable.

It does its job, it allows me to have several video sources on my TV and watch them at the same time, it makes it easy for me to give it multiple uses, such as viewing the surveillance cameras in my house while watching a baseball game, the materials are very good and of good quality, the device is easy to use in any of the 5 modes. Important: it is 1080p, so if you connect a 4k source you will lose quality. Overall I recommended it if you have a big tv.

This device helped our church production run more smooth. So glad to have found a way to use a multi viewer to see our many camera angles.
