Effective, but VERY annoying to load into the weed-eater. The trimmer line does NOT want to stay in place while trying to load a new cartridge. I got one of these cheap trimmers because I wanted it to be easier to load more line. It's not. It's just a different kind of aggravation. Other than that, the trimmer line works quite well in edging and destroying unwanted vegetation in the yard.

Great price. Thank goodness that Amazon carries it. Our local box store always seems to be out. We get it fast and know it will work.

I really like the Homelite string trimmer and these replacement spools are easy to use. The one drawback is that the line doesn't always spool out smoothly. I have had to manually pull out the string when it failed to advance. It seems that the string coils sometimes stuck to each other.

I have no complaints about these. They fit and work perfect. I see a lot of people complaining, about the trimmer line unwinding while installing. You have to keep your fingers tight, on and around the spool, while feeding the line into the holes of the weed eater. Once the line is through the 2 holes on the weed eater, then you carefully push the spool down on the shaft, while your fingers let go of the spool. I then tug both ends of the trimmer line coming out of the holes on the weed eater, making sure it's taught, then put the cover on and go!

This is the standard name brand Homelite refill as what anyone can get in the store for the weed whacker (what I call it) some also call it an edger, but it does the same thing. Mine is electric and works great. I wondered if one so small would do as good a job, being it has these plastic straps and not a blade, but this works great, and getting re-fills has always been easy as long as you go where they sell the weed whacker. I liked buying the re-fills on Amazon, got a whole bunch of stuff in one fell swoop, and it was the real deal.
