I have the newer EL-1 Flash which this battery is made for. The replacement batteries are at $85 so one priced this low, you have to have low expectations. However, this battery has performed much better than I expected. First of all, it charged up in my regular Canon chargers. Now, I am a news editor, so I don't use this flash for long periods of time (like a wedding photographer would), but I do need a very quick recycle when I use it. That was the whole reason I bought the EL-1 was the very quicjk refresh. Well, both outings where I used this Kastar as a primary, I couldn't really tell that it wasn't the OEM battery. The flash reset quickly like it always does, and it didn't drain any quicker. Now, depending on your flash use, your mileage may vary, but if my OEM battery takes a dive, I'll buy another Kastar instead for sure!

I needed a spare battery for my on-camera flash to have on hand when battery needed recharging. I decided to try this Kastar brand because they have a reputation for reliable batteries across a wide range of photographic equipment. My Speedlite EL-1 flash is a relatively expensive piece of equipment and I didn't want to just use an unknown brand, so I chose this fully decoded Kastar replacement battery.I'm happy to report that this battery performs in every way as well as my original equipment battery. It uses the same charger, too, which is convenient. As an added bonus, the battery has a higher capacity which means it can last longer before needing to be recharged. At about 1/3 the price of the original equipment battery, I feel like this is a good value and I would choose this Kastar battery again. It works great in my Speedlite EL-1. Highly Recommend!

This is an okay replacement battery. First battery I have every received that was dead or very low. Took quite awhile to charge maybe 2 hours to get to full charge. Did drop right in and was good to go but life was not a good as the original equipment. So as a spare this does work in a pinch but does not compare to original.
