Purchased for my son. He loves it and feels its something he wants to keep for ever. My 10 yr old received a wide range of gifts for all sides of our family for Christmas yet this is what I see with him at all times.The compass is durable and I appreciate the locking feature as well.

Gave this as a gift to my son for his 21st birthday. The item is beautiful but come to find out that the compass doesn’t work. I do not recall this being a novelty item in the description.

I gave this to my son who will be a freshman this year in college. He seemed to appreciate it. I wished the case was leather, even if that raised the cost. It’s a sweet little trinket; and although we aren’t sure it actually points north, the kind words on it express my love for him.

My son is very hard to buy for & always says he doesn't want anything. But when he opened this up he loved it. I could see it in his eyes he knew this was special just for him.

Purchased for my son as part of a wedding day gift. The compass is nice and easy to read. I was not impressed with the holder though. It looked and felt cheap. I threw it away and wrapped the compass in a box instead.
