I picked this grinder from the positive reviews, because its look fits our kitchen decor, and because it looked in the picture like it had a large hopper. It certainly grinds the beans, its main function. And it does look nice. Not elegant nice but nice. It’s also relatively quiet. There are lots of different grind options depending what you need it for. But that creates a problem. The setting for how much to grind is not in cups but in time. Some people use time bc the amount of coffee grounded can vary each time, but the same goes for time. You can keep playing with it to find out a right amount of time, but if you need a different quantity, you’ll have to guess. It makes a huge mess. Good luck dumping the grounds into a basket. No matter how careful you are, you’re going to get coffee grounds all over the top of your coffee maker. I’ve tried being careful, but the grounds cling to the container. I’ve tried spooning it in, but there’s no great solution. Last night, I dumped the grounds into a large glass bowl first, and there were still grounds on the counter. My biggest complaint is that any time we adjust the grind, going from medium for drip to coarse for French press, it stops working. We have to empty the hopper, dump anything in the grinding chamber, and put it back together. Then we have to turn the hopper from espresso to coarse and back and forth until it starts grinding again.I don’t love the time thing, but I can live with that. The hopper isn’t as big as I wanted, but that’s not the fault of the manufacturer. The mess is pretty obnoxious but not being able to get the correct grind without having to disassemble the machine is a killer. Will probably get a new one and donate this one. This is all very frustrating and, for what I paid, I hate replacing it. But I’ve been annoyed with it for quite a while now.

It took me forever to get to use this but I'm glad I finally did. It doesn't take up much counter space, it isn't super loud, and it works fast. I did find that it makes a bit of a mess, I had coffee grounds everywhere after I took out the little bin with the grounds. But it was easy to adjust and easy to use so I don't mind. I'm really looking forward to using it more. It's such an easy, fast way to enjoy free coffee.

Part of my morning ritual is to make myself a nice cappuccino, and I've actually converted my husband from using instant coffee for himself to using the espresso coffee maker I recently upgraded to. But I was continuing to use a blade grinder despite hearing about the advantages of a conical burr grinder. Then I saw this Palico coffee grinder with 17 settings and decided to go for it. The Hub and I are glad I did.I found it thoughtful that it came with two instruction booklets, one in English and one in another language, even though I needed only English. I experimented with removing both the family-sized hopper atop the burr grinder itself and the receptacle for the grounds a few times to ensure I could do so easily before use, and I found doing so intuitive and easy. I then weighed 80 grams of beans to see how much that would grind down to. Well! Adjusting the grind setting to 17 made for some of the finest, uniform grind we'd seen of our beans, and I decided just to grind up all 80 grams and to put those into the freezer for our use because, as my husband noted, grinding the beans with this burr grinder was much faster than the use of the blade grinder--at least two times as fast. Also, though, doing so permitted me to clean and put into the cupboard this burr grinder since its footprint is larger than our blade grinder. The photos I've provided include ones in which you can see the size of the burr grinder as compared to my food processor and part of our cappuccino machine. I bake often, so I always keep the food processor on the counter. If I kept fewer items on my counter, I'd likely keep the burr grinder out. But I somewhat like being able to have ground coffee ready to go into my espresso machine in the morning when I'm groggy before I have that caffeine, so I've always ground up enough coffee for at least 3 or 4 days. And as you can see in my photos, the grind is uniform and great! And the cappuccino I made myself immediately after grinding in the afternoon of receiving the Palico burr grinder was tasty, just as the ones on subsequent mornings have been. I really appreciate the ease of use and quality of the coffee grinds with this burr grinder. It's actually a bit noisier than my blade grinder, but the burr grinder is going to be our choice of grinding from now on! This is a great product!

I've not had a burr grinder before and this is a wonderful step into this type. It works well and the finest setting really takes the beans to a very fine powder. It's easy to use and figure out although it comes with a good instruction booklet. This is larger than the other blade grinders I've always had. What I like about this is that I can dedicate this one to coffee and the small blade grinders for spices. I've always used one for both things and after grinding spices, the next time I grind coffee beans I can usually taste some residual spice. Nice to be able to dedicate grinders. This one is nice and quiet which I love. A great cup of coffee is a nice morning ritual but the crazy loudness of most grinders ruins that peaceful ritual. I recommend this one!

I'd give 5 stars for design but returned it because of the static. I realize most grinders have this issue and have had three that had some static but they were not bad. This grinder was so static-y grounds actually flew up on my sweater, and down on the floor! I loved the size and style and could have put up with the loudness but I love my beans and coffee more, so back it went. Also, the grinds were all pretty similar. I ended up buying the Mokkom and couldn't be happier. It's super quiet, has NO static, I mean NONE, and the grind selections and results are excellent.

Someone can have this thing for a song.Several times now, after grinding, I've pulled the bin out and more ground coffee fell into the spot where the bin was located. Always a mess and waste of coffee with unnecessary time spent having to clean up th emess.
