I wasn’t what I expected however, my granddaughter loves playing with it. I believe it will stimulate her curiosity about how the body works. But a word of warning: it also explains how the body poops, types of poop and why we poop.

The way this product is put together is completely genius. They just missed the mark slightly because they didn’t make the pieces laminated. I would have paid 10 more dollars for the laminated pieces. The whole book is laminated, except for the pieces that stick onto the pages man. This was almost a perfect product. Definitely would buy again, and definitely would pay more for laminated pieces.!! Thank you for your time!

The good: my newly 5 year old kiddo wanted to rip the box open as soon as they saw it. WOW! LET ME SEE THAT!!!The pictures are bright and colorful. The words are correctly spelled and the anatomical structures are correctly identified. There is a poop identification chart and month calendar for your kiddo to chart their bowel movements. That's going to be a hit in my home. There are a lot of anatomy sight reading words that will help with reading skills. I think that the pieces will help with matching skills. The pictures inspired my kiddo to ask a lot of questions. The shiny pages are easy to write on and easy to wipe off. The wire binding seems sturdy and runs the length of the book. The bad: one million pieces of Velcro to adhere to the book and the paper pieces 😭. My fingers hurt from setting up this book. I was surprised that the lungs weren't mentioned anywhere in this book 😱. There is a maze that can be done, but kids will lose interest after completing it once or twice. There is a crossword puzzle that is too advanced for toddlers and young children. I am not sure what kids are supposed to do with the cavities page. There are a lot of food related pages - I don't think a child would be interested in them aside from pulling the pieces off and putting them back on. Maybe they could spark a discussion about nutrition? My kiddo asked why the heart was "dusky looking".The book came with two wipeoff markers and a waterproof pouch to hold them and the pieces. I chose to attach the pieces so that we don't have to sort through dozens of pieces to find the thing we are looking for. We will remove the pieces from one page at a time. There are a lot of pieces to lose...so this book is not for children under 3 years old.At the current price point I feel that the book doesn't offer the most comprehensive kid-appropriate anatomy lesson. There are other books that show all of the important organ systems. This books misses the respiratory system and the circulatory system. I would have liked to see the senses introduced. While the organs were labeled, there was no kid-appropriate explanations of what the organs did in the body. It would have been helpful for parents to have a blurb that gave them a prompt on how to discuss the organs...I'm a healthcare professional so I can explain to my kiddo about the gall bladder, but I don't know that the average adult could tell you its function. This is a cute book and my child immediately started to draw in it and ask questions. This is like a "gateway book" that will lead to books with more information and more detailed illustrations. It's an alright Busy Book, but not a great Busy Book in terms of the depth of information or age appropriate activities. However, did it keep my kiddo busy? Yes. Too busy to eat her very healthy Lucky Charms 🤣. I'm waiting for her to point out that her sugary cereal is both bad for her teeth and her stomach (and her blood sugar). In that way, this book succeeds...so I have given it 3 stars. I deducted 1 star because the book felt flimsy and I had to put on all of the Velcro before my kiddo could use it (oh, the tears when told that it couldn't be played with). The markers/pieces pouch is not attached to the book so I fear that it will be separated and lost, making the book less fun. I deducted another star because it missed some important anatomical systems (respiratory, circulation, the senses and their associated systems, etc). There were some lost opportunities for teachable moments. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars.I'll see how interested my kiddo remains in the book. Currently it is being used as a coloring book and boots are being drawn on the roots of the teeth.
