This Retractable Garden Hose Reel (1/2" x 100 ft) is a total lifesaver! The automatic retraction works flawlessly with a nice slow rewind that prevents tangles and keeps things neat. I love that it locks at any length, so I’m not dragging excess hose around the yard.The 9-pattern nozzle is super versatile, and the brass fittings feel durable and leak-free. The 180° swivel bracket makes it easy to reach every corner of my yard, and the heavy-duty build gives me confidence it’ll last for seasons to come.Mounting was straightforward, and it looks sleek in black too. I've got more of these hose reels than I should care to admit. The perils of having a lot of land. This one here is effective, but there's a reason why it's $100 when all the others are $200+ for the same size. It locks in place fine, it unspools reasonably well enough, but the problem is in the build quality. The construction of the reel box itself is significantly lesser than, say a Giraffe or even a Vego. The nozzle that came with it leaked right out of the box, and felt flimsy anyways. And then the hose itself, 1/2" is good, but 5/8" is better, but more importantly, the hose quality just isn't there compared to the other brands. Matter of fact, they even put a warning not to drink from it. I'm a Gen X kid, I grew up on hose water. What chemicals did they add to this to make the water unsafe? I'm not OK with that.All in all, if you need 100 feet and are on a budget, this one has the size and price for you, but consider better.

The overall size of this is good, and I love the 100' length. Unfortunately the hose itself arrived a bit kinked and the material does not feel strong.The installation was straightforward. You need to have a good wooden place to attach it or a hammer drill.Remember, this is a 1/2 inch hose so it will not deliver as much water as the 3/4 inch hose. That difference is what allows the mechanism itself to remain a reasonable size and provide a 100' hose. I would definitely make sure you turn off the feeding spigot to it when you're done each time.This is good when you need that extra length. Overall, these self winding hoses are simply wonderful. They help you keep your area clear.
