I have made several rings using this stretcher and they have turned out great. Despite other reviews my unit came without any defects in paint or machining, it was well oiled and packed well. The reduction plate appears to be machined properly, the ram is also leveled and works as it should producing no wobbly rings. As a hobbyist, this machine will help you turn out some really nice rings, and for the price you can’t go wrong.

My only complaint is that the press part of this sizer/reducer does not center over the die wheel. Other than that, it works for what I do.UPDATE: two weeks into this and there’s a clear issue: the misalignment of the plunger and the die causes misshapen rings. I stopped using this unit, and have ordered a better stretcher/reducer that has better alignment and an arm that doesn’t unscrew itself after each use. The dies are a problem with the misalignment and the quality of the machine polishing as the press leaves marks and forces Delrin cones and synthetic/steel bearings to one side or the other because the die surface is not smooth enough to allow an even slide through the die. At first I thought it was working but I noticed the inconsistent results quickly. The splines are durable and the body of the tool is as well, but the plunger comes unscrewed like the handle does. Tightening with a tool is a temporary fix at best and the quality of the plunger is suspect as it becomes marred which transfers to the metal of the ring. I can’t recommend this for business use.

The product is obviously used. The product box was falling apart and had been retaped, the device is corroded and tarnished, and the chrome is flacking off.

The product seems to work okay for stretching copper for making rings, but I can't even begin to reduce anything because I can't even get the reducing plate into place. There isn't enough clearance between the post that the plate sits on, and the plunger that pushes the ring down into the plate. This makes the reducing part of the machine unusable and makes me question how long the other parts are going to hold up.The stretching process is nowhere near as smooth and easy as they make it look in the video either. it takes some work, and yes, you need to bolt this thing down because you're going to have to push hard on the handle to get a full stretch.

I’ve folded about a dozen coin rings with it so far. Some copper and some silver. Works perfect and heavy duty.

Nice ring stretcher works well but needs to be taken apart stript clean and re Grease will the quality Lube / Grease not being overly picky but this needs to be done. Not overly polished but with some Teflon tape around the Rings works well for reducing. Expanding mandrill works well after being cleaned and greased .
