a Serial DB9 port is hardly new technology. But to find a solution that works in a modern Windows 10 PC has proven to be a challenge. My first attempt was a USB to DB9 converter, simply did not work reliably. My next attempt was this card.I am rating it 5*s because once I got through the install, it is working flawlessly. If I had ignored the install directions, and simply used native Windows 10 support, it would have been simple. But I followed the directions and installed the Star Tech software. Resulted in no serial ports. Uninstalling the Star Tech software was tricky as it kept crashing the PC. But once I got it removed, the Windows 10 support for the card works fine.I installed the Star Tech driver as per the instructions, and had no serial ports. Uninstalling (a two step process) crashed the PC twice. Windows 10, provided native support for the card, and this worked.

Great card; I was able to set up a plug in server for all of my downloads and plug my main PC into it without any problems.

I have not tested baud rate beyond 115200 bps (I need to find a driver or app that will do that).
