(Full disclosure:I will not bother you with "creative writing" any more in order to evaluate an item. My reviews are honest and objective. They are based on three simple points: “Very good", "Good enough", or "Not good").Good quality thin rip guide.I like the extra reach of the guide bearings and the very complete choice of attachment bases that come with it.It is a little involved to invert the "one-way" guide bearings but not enough to subtract any stars...Definitely a well-priced, useful item.

This is a well made, simple and effective way to measure and rip thin strips. The anti-kickback (one-way rollers) are my favorite touch, along with all the mounting hardware that makes it compatible with several shop tools. I couldn’t be happier with this guide at this price! As someone who is a novice at precision woodworking, I’m always on the lookout for tools that make repetitive cuts safer, faster, and more accurate—and this jig absolutely delivers. The rollers provide incredibly smooth material feed, and I’ve noticed significantly fewer pieces with tear-out, even on questionable stock. The laser-etched scale is surprisingly accurate to make setting up for thin rips quick. It is the typical Chinese anodized aluminum with that weird "English characters in a Chinese font" that all the tools like this seem to come with; I find that font very aesthetically off-putting because it reminds me of whence this came, but that's all about looks, not function. What really impressed me is how sturdy and well-made this jig is—the CNC-machined aluminum feels rock solid, and it stays firmly in place, eliminating any chatter during cuts. I also appreciate the wide compatibility; it fits perfectly in my table saw’s T-slot, and I’ve even used it on my router table with great results. This jig has saved me time, reduced waste, and given me confidence when making narrow cuts. Highly recommend it for anyone serious about woodworking!

While obviously designed for use with a table saw, the slot dimension is also the correct fit for my bandsaw, so I am reviewing this product from the point of view of a bandsaw user. The build quality of this "GoHelper" thin rip jig is quite excellent. The aluminum body is very thick and rigid. The adjustments all tighten down easily and securely.Since my saw has a U-channel instead of a T-slot, I was expecting to need to use a C-clamp or something to lock the jig to the table, but the manufacturer had already designed a solution into the product that I didn't initially notice: the adapter that fits into the slot has cuts that allow it to expand sideways and grip the inside of the channel when you tighten down the knobs. This seems to work quite well and stops the jig from moving around in the channel. The sprag clutches in the one-way rollers work great (even though they're not really needed on a bandsaw) and I can't feel any backlash at all.Overall I think this is an excellent quality thin rip jig, and it seems built with versatility in mind. It feels like it will withstand a lot of use.

I have seen the previous version of this jig in operation before, it was basically the same except it had a single roller made of two ball bearings, and that roller was about 3/4" high. The rest of the jig looked identical, with two scales in inches and millimeters, two adjustable arrows, two knobs to secure the jig in T-track, and a separate knob for extending or retracting the jig. What makes this new jig different is two knurled rollers instead of one, their height increased to 1-1/2", and one-way rotation of these rollers. Usefulness of the latter feature is somewhat questionable to me. This is obviously an attempt at making the jig safer against possibility of a kickback, but the knurled rollers are providing reliable traction mostly on soft wood, much less so with hardwood. Even with soft wood, quite a bit of pressure is required for the plank not to slip back past the stopped rollers, and that pressure is going to be applied against the fence, making it hard to push the plank through.Other than that, this is a perfect jig, it will be of good help for making thin wood strips for shimming and other woodworking needs. Make note also, that the product picture showing this jig stacked against the saw blade is incorrect. The jig needs to be set it in front of the blade, not against the blade. You set it against the blade only to have a point of reference on the scale, from which to measure thickness of the strip you want to achieve. After that, the jig needs to be moved to a position before and away from the front teeth of the blade.

A great deal! This is a very well made jig - well thought out and beautifully executed! The body is crafted of a single piece of anodized aluminum. On the top surface, etched into the metal and painted white, is a scale for reference. On one side, metric - on the opposite, Imperial. (mm and 1/32") There are no numbers on the scale, because you use the scale as a reference only. Another smart idea, is that the indicator can be moved to the left or right and then locked into place. A great idea!At the front end, you find two large rollers. Each is knurled and indexed - they only turn in one direction. If you want to use the jig in a different position, you can remove the rollers and install them in a reverse manner. The whole idea of the rollers is to allow for smooth feeding of wood into a cutting tool (bandsaw, table saw, router, etc) and to reduce the risk of any kickback. My table saw uses a T-slot system, so I am able to just slide the jib into the slots. The two large black knobs will tighten the unit down, by pulling up on the bar on the bottom of the jig. The silver knob in the centre of the jig, controls the forward and backward motion of the jib - just how far the rollers will be from the cutting edge.It works great! It holds solid into the T-slots, without any movement at all. The best feature for me, is that sliding marker. It just makes measurements easier. You simple "zero" the jig by having the front rollers "kiss" as they say in the instructions - the teeth of the blade. And that is correct. You don't measure for the body fo a circular saw blade - you measure for the teeth. With that measurement done, the sliding marker lets you adjust it up to 1/2". Use the unit once, and this will all make sense...The inclosed booklet does a great job in describing how to set the unit up, as well as how to change the unit into working with a U-slotted table.Follow the simple directions and this will become a much used shop tool with a table saw. Personally, for me, I like to edge my shelves with hard wood. I will use 3/4" sheet plywood for the flat surfaces - table tops, shelves, - but edge with hardwood so the ply does not get chipped. Oak and Beech are my "go-to's". But it is always a bit tricky when cutting five or six feet feet of 3/4" strips from a solid board. This jig makes that task much easier and much safer! The current price of just under $50.00 CND is the biggest surprise! I don't see how GoHelper is making any profits at this price point. In my opinion, the unit should be selling for much more. It's a solid piece of equipment at an excellent price!Bottom Line - A terrific tool! Very well built at a very low price. An excellent buy!

I’ve used this Thin Rip Jig on some test cuts, and overall, it performs just as advertised. It’s easy to set up, and once in place, the one-way knurled wheels do an excellent job of feeding the wood forward while preventing any backward movement—exactly what you want for clean, consistent cuts. I tested it with several different cut widths, ranging from very narrow strips to wider rips, and the tool held solidly through all of them. It’s definitely a reliable option for repeatable thin rips. The guide kept everything aligned, which helped streamline the process and reduce waste. My only complaint—and the reason for the four-star rating—is the thumb knob used to lock the setting. It’s in a tight spot and difficult to tighten by hand. I would have preferred an Allen screw or similar tool-driven fastener to make adjustments easier and more secure. That said, this is still a well-built, effective jig that has earned a spot in my workshop. If you make a lot of thin rips and want consistency and safety, this tool is worth considering.

This Thin Rip Jig is similar to a featherboard in many ways but also different. There are two ways to use this jig1 - Featherboard: Used to hold material in place. tight to the fence while making rip cuts.2 - As a Guide for Thin Rip Cuts. Used as a guide to make multiple, repetitive, thin rip cuts.••• Featherboard Application •••To use this jig as a featherboard you set up your fence to rip the board and then set this guide snug to your material to hold it in place and help keep your cut true and straight. In this application the Jig Acts like a third hand close to the blade. This jig does a pretty good job as a featherboard the only issue is if your material width changes too much. Most featherboards have EVA foam guides or fingers to hold the wood in place, tight against the fence and prevent kick backs. The EVA foam fingers fingers are flexible so they have a wide tolerance for variations in the materials thickness. This Thin Cut Rip Jig has dual knurled rollers that grab the wood and help hold the wood from kickbacks. Because the rollers are metal they are less forgiving for wide tolerances in the thickness of the edge of the material. While this jig can be used a featherboard you may need to leave a 1mm gap if your material isn't plumb.••• Thin Rip Guide •••This GoHelper Jig is best suited as a thin rip guide. For this application you will set the jig up on the opposite side of the blade and fence and use it as a guide and stop to make repetitive rip cuts at a specific thickness. You will measure the distance from the roller guides to the saw blade. This will be your cut thickness. You then adjust your fence keeping the material tight to the knurled wheels on the Rig Guide. After each cut you just tighten the fence to the guide and continue cutting over and over. Each cut will be the same thickness. This is the fastest way to make multiple rip cuts ... it's safe, fast and accurateOverall I like this Gohelper Thin Rig Guide a lot. It's well made, built to last and easy to use. The dual wheel design with anti kickback rollers is also safer and more accurate than single roller jigs. Highly recommend

I love the jig. The packaging left more to be desired, but whatever. The instructions were clear. You can reverse the wheels so that you can use on either side of the saw (since they only turn one way for safety). My first try with it was the most ambitious (a 1/32 cut) and IT DID IT!! It fell through the opening between the blade because I don't have a zero clearance made for it yet, and so I wasn't able to get a picture of that, but I was able to get a picture of a 1/8 cut that I made (measured it with a micrometer and it was EXACTLY 1/8 inch. Good stuff. I do have pictures of those cuts. The front of the jig has a... ...shoulder???... that keeps it level on the saw which I REALLY liked because I've seen others that have nothing at all keeping it level. Adjusting the gauges was very easy and they remain accurate after setup (hence the EXACT 1/8" cut). I also like that the wheels are knurled for added grip; other jigs I've seen are smooth. I don't foresee any issues with the knurled wheels - don't see why there WOULD be any. I wish it were orange to match my saw and the rest of my shop :(. But red is fine. Oh, it also has a feature that allows you to flip the... whatcha call it... the thing that goes into the T track - you can flip it to switch between different sizes to fit your particular track. It also comes with T bolts in case those will work and the other two won't.I think they thought of everything. It's a very simple jig. Simple to use. Simple to set up, but I love it. I'll definitely be keeping it for years. I hope I need it soon because I like using it.
