The stand fits together nicely and securely. There is a ball joint on the end that allows the microphone to be rotated in a specific way. The ball joint also allows the microphone to be moved up and down, but not side to side. Basically, it allows rotation about an X axis and Z axis, but not a Y axis. Sorry, I'm not sure how to be more clear about that, but be aware that the ball joint doesn't have "full" flexibility, although I imagine it's sufficient for almost every need. That said, and retaining a 5-star review of this product, I prefer the "boom" style of microphone stand with springs because that style is able to reach over my desk and stuff more. The "boom" style is able to move up and down with two joints, but can't make an angle toward me with the microphone, so you'll need to decide what exactly you want.

I wanted something for my desk setup that could keep my mic out of the way while I worked, but still be easy to swing into position when I game at night. This mic arm has been exactly what I needed—convenient, space-saving, and super functional.Quality:Honestly, I was surprised by how sturdy this thing feels. The entire arm is made of solid metal and has a premium feel to it. The C-clamp is way better than the typical budget options, though I do wish it was a bit shorter—it barely clears my desk riser. That said, the arm rotates smoothly and holds its position really well without sagging. I also like that it came with different thread adapters for mics, and the cable management is built into a channel in the arm instead of those cheap plastic clips. Only downside is that the cable isn't totally hidden through the swivel joints, but that’s a small nitpick.Price:Compared to other low-profile mic arms out there, this one is a steal. Some brands are charging close to $100 for similar performance, and this does the job just as well for way less.Overall:This mic arm checks all the boxes—sturdy, adjustable, and clean-looking. For the price, it’s an awesome value and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a solid desk mic setup.Pros:✅ Durable metal construction✅ Smooth swivel and strong joints✅ Built-in cable channel looks clean✅ Includes mic adapter screws✅ Excellent value for the qualityCons:❌ C-clamp is a bit tall for low clearance setups❌ Cable channel doesn’t fully hide wires at swivel pointsTL;DR:A surprisingly high-quality mic arm that performs like the expensive ones without the high cost. Perfect for clean desk setups and well worth the money.

I recently picked up the TODI Mic Stand Desk, Heavy Duty Boom Arm (4.5LBS) with Extension Riser, and it’s been a fantastic addition for my music setup! This all-metal mic stand is incredibly sturdy, holding my heavier microphone with shock mount with zero wobble. The adjustable boom arm and extension riser make positioning pretty simple, and the 3/8'' and 5/8'' interfaces ensure compatibility with my gear. The cable management keeps my desk clean, and the clamp is rock-solid on my desk. It's built like a tank and is perfect for streaming and recording—worth every penny! Update: After using this arm for the past several weeks I've noticed that the small tightening screws strip out easily when using the small hex wrench. I feel like these screws should have been larger. Now the boom swings far too easily than I'd prefer. I still like the boom, but I'm annoyed that something so simple was overlooked in manufacturing.

I had a much longer review typed up, and then my browser crashed, taking it out with it, so here's the short version :J)This boom arm is incredibly sturdy, and moves freely, but, provided you have a level desk/table, i stays right where you put it, and unlike a traditional boom arm which is spring loaded, this one won't sock you in the jaw when you remove the microphone to switch from, say, a Procaster or SM7B to an NT-1 or other large diafragm condenser. It doesn't care if it's a Blue Yeti or a Snowball.I shimmed mine with a guitar pick because my table is actually on extremely thick, high pile carpet, but it only needed that tiny bit to level it out - 100% a me problem, and nothing at all to do with the mic stand!I also love the clearance it gives me whenever I want to move it out of the way. Three different times in the last day and a half, I've gone to move my old stand out of the way out of sheer muscle memory from having to do it so many times, only to wave my hand through air and then remember that I have a new stand that doesn't get in my way in the first place. If I had to criticize something though, and I'm just reaching for anything to nitpick about at this point, it's that the cable sleeves are set up oddly. They're both on the bottom of the arm shaft, so both facing downward. This means you're going to have cable hanging out awkwardly if you use them, instead of neatly running from one sheath into the next one. Again this is just a cosmetic thing. The XLR cable I'm using isn't long enough to need the cable management anyway.PS: don't mind the clutter in my photos. My computer space doubles as my work bench and music space.
