I’ve only used it once, but it worked like a charm, and sucked my boat right up onto the trailer!

This 12volt powered trailer winch is durable and an excellent addition to most boat trailers and boats that weigh less than 4,000 pounds. The winch is easily installed by undoing 8 bolts and removing the hand winch. The reverse is then used to mount the Bravex winch. (The safety chain is retained). The steel cable is durable and extends beyond the end of my trailer. The operation is quiet and the only complaint may be the cable unwinding and rewinding speed.

First winch arrived in good outward shape, but when hooked to power source, nothing. No continuity on either forward or reverse circuit upon testing. Something at factory likely inadequately connected. Easy return and replacement. Second one works nice. A longer power connection cord would be nice as too short for many uses behnd a pickup truck. I will lengthen the cord myself. I will use it on a smaller fishing boat trailer as I'm getting older and some ramps are rather steep. Winch has optional hand crank so if it fails to operate, I can still crank the boat in. Took awhile to design and build a mount adapter for my particular trailer, many trailers would not need such. But worth the time and work. Easy to operate, easy to hook up to power, long controller cord a major plus as it allows me to access rear of boat while operating winch. In wind, such a reach really matters!

Used twice. First time the winch was used to recover the boat, the trailer was in water with about 3/4 of the bunks submerged. Strained to pull 2800 / 2900 pound boat (not plus trailer 3500) and stalled out when it reached exposed bunks. Backed further into the water and still had very difficult time getting it to within a foot of the bow rest. Backed further in, still was a problem getting it up tight against the bow rest rubber.Next trip, even though trailer was backed in as far as possible on a steep and deep water ramp, it would not winch the boat in more than half way. Used handle to roll in manually. With about two feet to go there was a pop and it sounded like a gear tooth had broken off. By the time we got it in, safe to travel and safety chain connected, it sounded, and cranked like several other teeth on the gear had broken.Got this winch to replace a 6000 pound winch I’ve used for many years but is only power in freewheel out. I wanted the power out feature of this one. Guess I’ll have to put the old one back on. Not sure I trust that this was just a fluke bad one out of the box and replacing it with the same would solve problem.Brought boat home today, called Amazon and will be sending it back.

I'm gratefully impressed with their customer service. A problem arose with the unit and it was dealt with in a courteous and timely fashion. Just happy I didn't have to get have to get to an aggravated point. The product work as stated as well.

This type of winch has more pulling power than the barrel type from a static position. Portable and easy to use. Remote cord could be about 2' longer, but still very usable

It pulls my boat up on a roller ramp at about a 15 degree incline, but up and down is very slow. It says 6 feet per minute in the documents somewhere but I don't believe that. 16 foot jetboat weighing about 1800lbs loaded. I would still recommend it if you have patience :)

Lots of folks seem to like this unit, and with a few uses it works well, that said there are a few things I'll share.Unlike every other winch I own now and in the past, this unit does not have a manual cable release. This feature is very useful when you need to payout a decent amount of cable to the work. The second much lessor complaint is the flimsy plastic cover for the electrical connections. I mean they could have placed a wire or something to keep it on the winch when you are using the device, so you don't loose track of it when its time to take the cable off.On the plus side; it seems well made and is reasonably quiet. I really like the removable plate for quick connections so the winch can be portable and ready to go to work for you. The pulley, remote and electrical connections are nicely made, the electrical connections are keyed so it is impossible to confuse the connections should it be dark when you get back in with your boat etc.All in all I think I could have saved a few bucks, but the quality here I think is worth it. IF you will need to payout a lot of cable on a regular basis, you might look elsewhere

Seems well built. I hard wired it for a boat trailer. Fished some 10 gauge with from truck bed to battery. The incuded cable was too short. Mounted it by raising the manual winch platform. Fishing bolts thru the winch into the platform was a chore but thr result is nice. Spend sime time getting to know it and then try it out.I'm hauling a 16 ft bed mounted boat with a 25 HP motor. If it gives me trouble I'll edit this later. Now that I've used it I can honestly say it barely breaks a sweat. ( Me neither ). I hand cranked the boat to get it aligned and then just pushed the remote button and away we went. The remote and power connections have a plastic cap that I just put in my pocket.Definitely recommend this product.

I bought this winch to use to pull a Spyder(3wheel motorcycle) inside the back of our toy hauler Motorhome. The first one I ordered had some electrical problem that would not allow the winch motor to run even with no load. I returned it to Amazon and reordered another. It came in today and works great. It pulls the Spyder (900#) up the ramp into garage with no hesitation. I am curious as to what the warranty period is. The manual states a 1 year warranty. The slip of paper that has the customer service contact information says 2 years and there was a question on Amazon concerning the warranty length and the seller states 5 years. Somewhat confusing. I hope I don’t have to find out. They don’t appear to have a phone number, only email address. Time will tell but it works great right now.
