Just okay. Wood handle has a nice, smooth finish. It doesn't say what kind of wood—I don't think it does—but it's a blone-ish color, whether stained or natural. I like the color, but it depends solely on whether this is a color that matches your decor or preferences. (The handle uses standard threading that fits all my other portafilters, and it looks great with a black-finish premium portafilter head I have, so that may be one avenue if you just like this shape or color of handle at this price.)The machining or casting of the portafilter head is very sharp, not in a hurt yourself way, but in a crisp, angular lines and edges way. This may or may not suit your taste—I prefer something that looks a little more refined. The basket fits tightly. There will be no problem with the basket straggling behind in the group head upon removal. But, in pressing the basket out from the bottom, I noticed the screen flexed more than my other baskets, indicating the steel is a thinner gauge than those other baskets. It has a more square profile than the standard Breville double-shot basket (on the left), so probably holds an extra gram or two of coffee grounds. The packaging is ho-hum, so not even great for a gift.Ultimately this portafilter is only of average quality. I have several other portafilters to compare this to, and while it's fine, and maybe prettier than the proven but boring one that comes with your machine, it doesn't compete with portafilters that are even a little bit more expensive. This is a budget portafilter that may fool people from a distance, but if they get hands on, they will discover you prefer style over substance.
