These are perfect for separating my mountain bike brake pistons. they seem like they'll hold up well over time and they're simply to use. These are academy l exactly what I was looking for.

While this is 3D printed, it is very well designed and works VERY well compared to the cheap plastic one piece or those metal 'spoons' that fit between the pistons. This being plastic allows some compression when the brakes are pressed without it being installed. This prevents any piston damage and/or inbalance when braking with the brakes off the bike.

In the box:two blue plastic piston tools, “Risk” sticker.Materials/construction:Hard plastic, similar to a lego, but stronger. Has the two loops for your fingers to use as handles or just to get grip around. There is a square notch on one and long, recessed channel on the other, so that they can be used together as a guide to keep them straight and not fall apart.Use:I tested it on a 4-piston SRAM Code caliper and it works. Just line up the notch and channel, push them together, and it pushes the pistons evenly. I hated using a screwdriver or other types of piston spreaders because they don’t apply an even force. My Codes have phenolic pistons, not aluminum, so I am even more worried about damaging them. Conclusion:They feel decently strong, durable, and will last. They seem to work better than others, spread evenly, and are relatively cheap!

Works great, super smooth material; just what you need when it's timed to service your disc brakes. At some point, I think everyone presses a brake lever when the front wheel is out and then you need to retract the pads without damaging them. When that happens, you will be happy you have these!

Pros:- innovative design means both pistons get pushed back equally and evenly. With other piston tools you run the risk of pushing them back in wonky- due to the recessed line in one of the tools and the locator pin in the other, the tools stay perfectly aligned with one another- great price for a great tool (£5.99 at the time of review)Cons:- would have been nice if the two parts click together for storage as I'm worried I may inadvertently lose one!I hope you find this review helpful.

These work well just slide them into the calliper from each side, the slot helps guide them and as they are pressed together they press the brake pistons in, of course these will only work with either the calliper removed or the wheel because the rotor will be in the way, if your a bit of a lazy git like me and do it with everything fitted then they don't work, so don't be lazy.
