Plastic handels to tighten the racks on the roof bar are very cheep and won’t allow for a solid and tight fit. I has to remove them and use pliers to securely tighten the racks.They still do the job correctly though

If it wasnt for my 7 year old's kayak keeping it propped, I probably would have been trading insurance info with someone on the 5 miles drive to the lake.I could see this rack being fine for someone with something smaller like the little green lifetimes from walmart, but definitely not made for anything of a full sized kayak. We have a Tamarack Angler (well under the weight, but still bigger than average), and by the time we got there, the little 3/8 bolts were stripping and the cage was bending.Like i said. I dont want to bad talk the product. It looks well built from the outside, and it probably great for a very small kayak. But if you plan on taking a full sized one, look elsewhere.

Well what can I say, it does the job, feels like they're made well. Only issues that I have are the bolts that secure it to the crossbars were a little bit too short for the OEM crossbar on my 04 Xterra so I had to use a C clamp to help get them on there. The other issue is the "instructions" single sheet of paper with the parts list on one side and a diagram on the other, which is kinda blurry. Took a little bit of time to figure it out, but once I did, it was fine.

The foam is nice and thick. They seem really sturdy and they were pretty easy to put together. The instructions are just a blown out diagram—if this was more high resolution, it would've been easier to interpret, but it works. I really want these to work, but on my jetstream bars there is a huge gap between fitting and bars, and the screws are not long enough to get the washer, bolt and toggle screw on with my setup. Bummer!!

Finally able to get my kayaks to the lakes. these fit my kayaks but required a bit of work for my husband to build something to anchor them too. But now I can transport 3 kayaks at once on my trailer, plus an inflatable fishing boat.Sturdy.

Easy to put together on my crossbars. Make sure you continue to tighten them every time you load the kayak Has a little bit of girl but it works well

What caught my eye about this model, a few dollars more than some others was the type of foam on the pipes. I think it will hold up much better than the more open-pore stuff. Diagram a little tricky to read, but all the info is there. Have driven around quite a bit and the noise is minimal - probably more from the new rack it's attached to. Kayak slips in easily and will make my fun-times streamlined and efficient. Great jbars. First I've ever owned, but if I have cause to carry a second boat I'll order another pair. Confess I haven't been paddling yet, and not sure about the rope-ratchet straps, but those seem solid. Soon, soon!
