This rack is very sturdy and was very easy to attach. It is also very easy to adjust the angle of the rack once it is attached. The tie downs feel a little cheaply made but they work just fine. All in all , I feel like it is worth the money.

These are a great price point for a lighter load. Overall I think they were fairly easy to figure out and attach. The quality is about 3-4 star. The straps are what gave me a little worry and they could scratch the top of your car.I was using a paddle board (not the inflatable kind) to put on the top of my car. The board is a bit heavy so I did use some extra support because I didn't want to risk something expensive on something I wasn't sure I could trust. So if you are feel uneasy just add an extra strap. It held on and overall it protected my board just fine.

I found the VEVOR folding kayak roof rack to be very similar in construction to other brands I have used, but at a more competitive price. Assembly and installation was easy, especially with experience in using these kinds of roof racks before, whereas a beginner might have a slightly more frustrating time getting these attached to the roof rack. My main concern is with the plastic parts standing up to the heat and dryness of the desert environment in which we live. If this becomes an issue I will revisit this review with an update, but for the time being, I think this is a great pair of roof racks for the price.

This is a really great value for a j style kayak carrier. It's from Vevor, which makes a number of value products and tools, and with whom I am familiar. The quality of this is on par with other Vevor products I've used. In this case, it's a perfectly functional carrier with many of the features you'd find on a much more expensive one, with maybe a little less polish.Installation to my roof bars was pretty easy, and took about 10 minutes. It comes with a stamped steel wrench, so you don't need any tools to assemble. My roof bars are quite flat oval shapes (factory 2021 Bronco Sport bars), and this fit just fine on them. There is padding where there should be to protect your kayak (but not your roof bars, see below), and the upright can be adjusted across 180 degrees, although practically speaking for carrying you'd probably use a narrow range. I adjusted mine flat for when there is nothing up there, so I could clear my garage opening. There are some drawbacks to this carrier that I will note. First, keeping this on full time will subject you to more noise at higher speeds. It was considerably more noisy at highway speeds with this on, folded flat and no kayak. I'd want to remove it when not in use for this reason. This leads me to my second concern. Install and removal is by two plastic knobs for each carrier. The knobs wrap a regular steel nut, but the knobs feel too small and it was difficult for me to get a great grip on them to tighten them down. It was possible to get them tight, but not something I'd want to do repeatedly. I think the knobs should be bigger to provide for more leverage. In addition, you have to be careful when installing or removing. There is a washer and locknut that are going to fall off the bolt when you remove the knobs. The bolts that the bottom clamp passes through are long, and you have to take care to not scratch your roof. You might need to trim those bolts if your roof bars are close to your roof. You also need to hold onto the rack after loosening the clamp or the rack will fall over. You cannot set these down on your roof haphazardly or you'll have the bolt ends contacting your paint. Finally, there is no rubber coating on the bottom clamp, so you have painted steel directly contacting your roof bars, and I feel they will eventually rub through the finish of the roof bars and/or the clamp. If you have steel roof bars, you'll end up with rust. I think a thin rubber pad adhered to the bottom part of the clamp would be better.Even though there are shortcomings, these are far cheaper than a premium rack like yakima. These still have a lot going for them, like an adjustable upright, not fixed, the easy lever operation for adjusting the upright angle, and the locking teeth to hold the upright in place. If you don't want to spend north of 200 bucks to carry your kayak around, these will do the job and are a great value.

If you were looking for an inexpensive J rack to haul a kayak, then this will suffice. Adjustable angles allow you to attach either canoe or kayak to your roof. It includes 2 pull straps of meh quality. They were easy to install, but the washers for the under strap are annoying. They’re a universal fit so should be compatible with any rack. Fairly stable when tightened down. The strap bars are not coated so be careful not to scratch your car or drop on your sunroof as this may crack it. These are not heavy duty and I would consider a beefier set of racks and straps for heavier items or longer distance traveling.
