Previously, we cut up yoga mats and wrapped it like a hotdog bun and velcro straps. So far, we've only used it for our step through cruiser my spouse uses. It provides much more stability on the single tube.The rubber is thick and designed to wrap around the tube, though I do wish it was a BIT wider. It was only able to cover 80% of the tube with the rack hook, but its still very much better than our previous use.Velcro is long and can be used in variuos ways, I did not use the plastic link as it adds a minute or two to remove the velcro and out of the link loop. Still not a big deal.

The primary function of this product is to protect the finish on your bike's top tube while securing it to a vehicle mounting rack.It's very easy to use if you already have a top tube, but be mindful when placing it on a dirty bike or one that has accessories (like a frame bag) mounted to it.The company also sells "faux top tubes" if your bike is a step through, and this product can also be used with that.I love the idea, especially since it works better than using a towel or loose foam, but I also think that the asking price (currently $30) is a little much for what it is.
