We actually use this clamp for something a little outside the box—my husband uses it to hold his phone with a swing arm setup. It works great! The metal is solid and feels very durable. The clamp holds securely to the edge of the desk, and the added headphone hanger is a nice bonus. You could easily use this for a mic, phone mount, or even to hang small items like a hat or bag. Very versatile, and it doesn’t take up much space. Great little addition to any desk setup.

I think I was conscious of these little headphone clamps for a long time but so have no idea why I waited so long to get one! I received this free through the Vine program but have not been compensated for my review and the opinion is all mine. I’ve been in the habit of slinging my headphones over a mic stand in the studio, or dropping them on my laptop after a video call, but that hasn’t been the best idea on mobile sessions since artists and clients can accidentally get tangled up and knocked things over! Just looks much neater and more professional. I would give four and a half stars if that were possible because it has a nice pad on the top bracket to keep from scratching the top of the surface it is mounted to, but doesn’t have one on the bottom part of the clamp. Wouldn’t be a problem for me at home but I don’t want to scratch even the underside of someone else’s table or desk. Solved that problem by trimming down and adding a little piece of adhesive felt - the kind that stick in the bottom of chairs to keep from scratching the floor. Works great! Seriously - why did I wait so long to get one of these?! They really make the whole setup look more neat and organized than tossing the headphones and cord on the work surface. Going to get more for the studio and my office as well.

I have a light with a magnifying glass, and I like to use it multiple places. With this extra clamp, I can move the light between 2 tables. I could probably use a third one. It clamps good and sturdy, and easily holds my articulating light/magnifier.

The table clamp mount is well constructed. The portion of the mount that is used to hold mic stand arms, magnifying lens, overhead cam arm, etc, is welded to the clamping portion of the mounting bracket. There is a set screw with a large knob attached that keeps the rod-end of an accessory arm fixed in place. When screwed in, the set screw does not dig into the rod -- instead the hole is lined with a plastic sleeve with a flap built into the sleeve. The flap rests between the end of the set screw and the rod -- a very thoughtful design feature. The max distance between the fixed jaw and the movable jaw of the clamp is about 3 1/4 inches. The product description is incorrect in stating the clamp will work on tabletops up to 2 inches thick. The fixed jaw has a thin foam cushion attached (the part that rests on a tabletop), the movable jaw is a circular metal piece attached to the screw of the clamp. The movable jaw has no cushioning surface. All in all, this is a very, very well designed and executed clamping mount, suitable for a variety of accessories. The metal material is a carbon steel of some sort. It is powder coated finished in matte black. The extended piece of the bracket (hangar arm) can be used to hold a headphone, coat, purse, etc. The hangar arm is welded onto the main part of the bracket. The welds are well done and should be able to carry a lot of weight.
