These are so easy to load. I use a beach towel on my back hatch, lay the nose of the kayak on it, then simply slide it up. Same for unloading. No more picking up the whole kayak.

These racks have worked out well on our RAV4. I still need 2 people to put the boats up, but the rest I can do by myself. They’re easy to take on and off so I can store them in the winter.

This product does not work well with the larger peddle drive kayak’s.

I have a Dagger Blackwater 11.5 and a Wilderness Pungo 120. Both load easily, and fit perfectly on the top of my 2007 Rav4. Those are both wide boats. The stock Rav4 rack bars are oval and the hardware provided holds them nice and tight! This is a well made, sturdy, smart US product. Our load time is cut in half with these Malones, We put a carpet at the back of the Rav, open the back hatch door...and shove the boats into position. Great product!

These work perfectly for my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. Able to fit (2) 32” wide kayaks, one that is 12 ft long and the other 13ft long.Neither are in my view while driving. These seem to keep the kayaks very sturdy. Have taken them on 3 trips now with no issues.I was a little concerned at first because the bottom of the mount doesn’t fit my rounded crossbar perfectly but I sent Malone pics and they said the fit is just fine and secure.Haven’t had any problems.Would recommend! We were using a trailer to transport these but the parking got annoying for us. This works out much better.

I'm happy with these racks and the bundled cam-style cords for the bow and stern. We've used them twice, most recently for a 5-hour trip with highway speeds around 70 to 75 MPH. The kayaks feel very secure and stable. I have no problem loading the kayaks onto these; I just put a rubberized bath mat on the roof behind the rear Seawing and slide the kayak forward onto the rack.To deter theft, I did not use the plastic knobs that came with the racks, opting to purchase separate washers and lock nuts. Maybe that added to the stability, I don't know. Anyway, if you want to go this route, look for "metric flat washers, stainless steel, 8 mm" and "metric hex nylon insert lock nuts, stainless steel, 8 mm x 1.25 mm." I bought ten of each, eight to install and two to replace the ones I will inevitably lose, and they cost me about $3 plus nominal shipping. It is kind of a pain to install these -- you will want to put a towel down to protect your car from the tools and parts you drop. A ratcheting wrench (13 mm in my case) is a big help. The included bolts are 50 mm and 60 mm in length. If you think you will need shorter bolts, as I did, you will want "metrix hex bolts, stainless steel, 8 mm x 1.25 mm x 40 mm." However, the 50 mm worked fine on a 2007 Toyota Sienna with factory bars, so I ended up not needing the shorter bolts I bought.Hope this information is useful to somebody, it took me a little while to figure out the size and thread of the included hardware.

Easy to install and easy to securely attach your Kayak to a good roof rack. Great customer service.

I wish I had bought these first! Way better than j-mounts! I transported our kayaks at interstate speeds for hundreds of miles without checking the straps. Rock solid!
